| MINI2 Senior Derelict | SOMC: Car Control School Driver Training June 8th I'm organizing a day at Ian Law's car control school for the SOMC. This is a 1 day performance driving class structured like an autocross. It's a great, safe, environment to understand the abilities of your MINI. The tentative date is June 8th but that can be changed as long as it's remains a Sunday. The cost would be $150 and the class runs from 8am until 5pm with lunch included. I need 10 people minimum and 25 maximum to make this a "reserved" date for just MINIs. There are currently 2 other non-MINI drivers booked on the 8th of June and Car Control School is willing to move them to another date if we want to be only MINIs. I don't think that's needed though gives us someone to beat on. Add your name to the list at the somc website.http://www.somc.on.ca/viewtopic.php?topic=24&forum=3&2 For a good write up on this type of school check out Andy@ross-tech.com's writeup here(12th or so message down): http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=28834 For information on Car Control School: http://www.carcontrolschool.com/ The course in question is what they call the "Advanced/Autoslalom School." I would highly recommend this course to those attending the "MINI Meet" at Kingston/Wolfe Island/Shannonville to get the most out of their cars on the track. Not a single mod can match good driver training. period. Cheers, Paul Last edited by paulmon : Apr 15th, 2003 at 10:07 PM. |

Offline | I'm at Mosport that weekend as well. I would be interested, though. I've done about 60 autocrosses, but there's always something new to learn. Autocross techniques translate to excellent car control on the track. | MINI2 Senior Derelict | Not a problem as long as I can drive the Miata for 5 seconds for a picture. Being 6'3" I can drive a miata and I look OVER the winshield, would love to get a picture of that. hehe. The miata isn't a problem. There will be 2 members of the public there too as I don't want to get them bumped even though Ian said he would if we want to be MINI only. So far we've got the following: paulmon Miniman scollins GordonD & Son Tip Any others? Paul |

Offline | That's okay. I'll hand you my (then) 9 month old son, a diaper, wipes and some butt paste--feel free to help me out during breakfast. ![]() '03 MCS -IB/W/Stripes/LapisBlue '02 MC -IB/W Launch #467/500 -gone to new home |

| MINI2 Senior Derelict | I get enough of that at home, thanks. While we're on the subject don't use too much of the paste as it can acutally cause a rash, if he has a rash don't use it at all and use powder to keep the area dry. You learn these things when you've got a 3yr old and a 1yr old. Now back to our regularly scheduled MINI talk... Paul |

Offline | Quite familiar. Did I forget to mention our 3yr old? Not so off topic: he's a MINI nut, and I'm sure he'll drag his mother up the street to watch. ![]() Shawn '03 MCS -IB/W/Stripes/LapisBlue '02 MC -IB/W Launch #467/500 -gone to new home |
