Missing out AGAIN!

I guess it's true - you snooze...you loose. I don't check this site very frequently - just heard about the Toronto premier & of course it's at capacity.

Oh well ... I'll have to see it in Burlington. Maybe I'll just sit in the parking lot & see how many people stop by!
Cheers!
Have fun in Toronto!

I missed out on the free parking, then left my change in the machine

A little cliched, but the MINI's (both on film and in real life) were worthwhile.

The event in Montreal was a great succes, close to 200 MINIs!!!

I didn't know there was so many MINIs in the Montreal region since we rarely see any on the road

Hi silvercooper!

I was there as well!

I must say, I found the crowd to be pretty tame during the movie. Whenever I saw a MINI do a cool stunt, I felt like screaming Woohoo!! and I did on several occasions, and no one seemed to join in!

Oh well, I had my fun!

Yep, the crowd in Montreal was very quiet during the screening except for the Italian Famiglia I had beside me (was in the last row just in the middle). They were talking pretty much for the first quarter of the film, unfortunately the volume of the screening was very low - have I turned deaf from listenig to too much loud music in my MINI? - they should have pumped up the volume a notch or two. But I was fine with them, it kind of blended with the first part in Venice.

I was not expecting much from the movie, just happy to go to this premiere. But I definitley was entertained - of course I am biased. There were a few witty dialogues and the group had a chemistry that was credible. And of course, stunts were great.

What about the MINI presentator , he had the best opportunity to heat up a crowd, instead, the way he was talking, he put us all into hibernation mode.

Cheers and to the next event.

The crowd was definitely quiet but I enjoyed the movie a lot! Much better than I was expecting, it was great. Can`t wait until the DVD is released it will be a must buy for me

We should find a way to identify the guys from MINI2 at the next event so can introduce our self, no?

Thumbs down Host at the movie?!?

Yes, we must find a way to identify ourselves.

Man, that host for the event was totally subdued! I thought it was just the wife and I that thought so; what was up with that guy? I could barely hear what he was saying. Hope they have more enthusiasm at the GP.

I will buy the DVD definitely. Never saw the original Italian Job but it would be great if they could put both on the DVD when it comes out. I saw this last time I rented a DVD, on one side there was Charade, excellent movie with Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn and on the flip side, the remake The Truth About Charlie (awfull) with no other than Marky Mark. Have you ever noticed how this guys always ends up on a remake? (The perfect storm (I think), Planet of the apes, The truth..., and now the Italian Job). The irony is that he plays always the same way whatever the movie.

To recognize each other, best would be to wear T-Shirt from MINI2 on the next event. Let's make an official suggestion to MINI2 merchandising, what about a black T-Shirt with www.MINI2.com printed on it, white lettering, to respect MINI styling.

Are you in with me on this one? (it is a little bit short noticed since the next event is mid-June, but would be a nice to have)

T-shirt idea, sounds good.

I agree with the t-shirt suggestion. How can we make it happen?

I like the T-shirt idea as well

PS: the presenter WAS a snooze, and me too, I found the volume to be quite low (and my hearing is sensitive)

Maybe at that cocktail party, with a few drinks down people's throats, they would be more WILD!!! :-))

I like the t-shirt idea, DUKE2MINI you are in charge of the t-shirt!

I went to a store where they sell only DVDs over the week-end and they told me the DVD of the old Italian job film was not yet available but they expect it will come out at the same time as the new version.

Thumbs up

I didn't make it into the Toronto showing but MINI sent me two gift certificates for Famous Players to see it on my own time! Already saw it but will make use of the certificates anyways (Angels 2 perhaps).

I'm a buyer in the fashion industry and if everyone wants I can get some t-shirts made quick and cheap from a local source (with the consent of mini2.com of course). I recently had some made for our company's annual meeting and turn around can be 2 days. Price ranges depend on quantity (these kinds of things can be extremely inexpensive if you know the right people). I'll do this for the MINI2 community so if we get a good number of people it will be nice and cheap $5 - $10 max (Canadian dollar)
