Offline | hey nfinity, where do you live? i'm guessing not the west coast? my insurance for my '04 MCS, bought last October was $3300. I'm currently 21 right now too, I can't think of the company at the moment, but I can find that out. $4500 sounds like a LOT! ouch. ~ Darren |

Offline | No west coast - I'm around the Toronto region. That quote was given to me by my current insurance company, Meloche Monnex, which I've been with since I started driving 4 years ago. Like I say - no accidents, traffic tickets or anything. I was completely shocked when they told me this just because the Mini is so much safer than so many other cars out there. I currently own a 97 Tiburon which is 3900 to insure (rated the most stolen car of the year a while back), which is stretching it as is so you can imagine my reluctance to beef up that premium by another $600. -Adam. |

Offline | For your insurence check with McCann broker in Oshawa. I will see if I can find his card and post the contact info. Also ask the dealer if they have any recomendations, thats how we got turned to McCann, Nancy at MINI Durham said give him a call and he was $1000 less than our current broker. As to the gas, been running Pioneer 93 for a while and it seems ok, we try and stay away from the big companies due to belife they are messing with the gas prices. Note to this, gas was at 74.3 for regular in Hamilton yesterday and 83.9 in Brantford where I live, at the same brand stations. Does this sound wrong to anyone? Get ready for it cause next it will take a .10 jump per liter over night where it took 2 weeks to drop .05. Doesn't matter though will still run the top gas. Didn't know about the ethonol content not being good for the car, will have to look into that, see if its what is causing the intermitant stumble with the JCW. Ken |
