Offline | New MCS owner... what about the Aero Grill? Just wanted to say a quick hey... Just took delivery of a brand new MCS IB/BL 10 days ago. Will get picks up as soon as possible. So far, by far the funest car I've ever owned. I currently have the chrome grill. I'm thinking of puting on the Aero grill. Any issues with our harsh winter? (Last) 2004 MCS IB/BL |

| MINI2 Regular | No issues with the winter. But installation wise....the top grill (in the hood) bolts right in. The bottom grill (top of the bumper cover, above the plate) needs a bit of cutting to fit. It will also stick out a tiny bit (not noticable). Hope that helps. Offline | Hi....having had my I/B MC since Christmas I can say that the only real problem I've had (winter wise) is that the door locks freeze up. The poor design means that snow gets into the gap behind the chrome door pulls and freezes. I've seen posts from the UK saying wrap your hand over the handle and the heat from this will melt the lock and it will open....not a wise idea at -30 C. I took this up with the dealer and he told me he had 10 MINI's in that same week with the same problem. All he could suggest was to buy some lock de-icer! Other than this I have the 15" R82's with all season tyres and have had no real problems in the snow - it would be great to have more ground clearance, but unless there is a 4 x 4 version of the Mini in the works it seems perfect for me. Offline | thanks for the info. I'm really not looking forward to the winter... Johnnyboy, have you ever installed an aero grill yourself? How much did you get from your dealer? (Last) 2004 MCS IB/BL |

| MINI2 Regular | I used to work for a MINI dealer. We had installed a few of the aero grill's only. It is pretty straight forward if you relatively good at doing such things. On The Loose On The Web: www.johnnyboy.ca |

Offline | I made a deal with the dealer. The grill is not costing me anything. I had to have the grill replaced from chrome to body colour anyways... Instead I"m putting in the Aero grill. No extra charge for me ![]() (Last) 2004 MCS IB/BL |
