Midwinter MINI Arctic Run

Sounds impressive, eh?

If you haven't caught the news in the New England forum, in CanadianDriver.com, Motoringfile.com, NEMini.org or any number of other places, several of us from the States will be road-tripping up to Radisson and Chisasibi, QU, at the end of the James Bay Rd.

February 18 to 22.

Here is the MINI2 link: MINI2 Link for Hudson Bay Run

Here is an informational page: Some general information

and of course, what thread would be complete without a few pictures?

To date, we have 14 committed MINIs and another 15-18 or so fence sitters. If you have a MINI, we'd love to have you join up with us anywhere from the Canadian border right thru to Matagami. Saturday is the James Bay Road drive, Sunday our day to do fun stuff up there and Monday, James Bay Rd again.

Click on any of the links on the Hudson Bay Page if you'd like more information, or send me a PM

DUCTTAPE.

Thats a nice trip in the summer,in the winter its just white, cold and dangerous, windchill factors of -70 are not uncommon, wind induced whiteouts can last for days, vast stretches of highway with no sevices, phones or repair facilities. Post some pics when you get back and tell us how it went ...Good Luck

We're back!

I was the only Canadian on the trip, it was fun going with Americans to experience it through their eyes.

There is now a site dedicated to the trip, ArcticMINI.com , which already includes 100s of photos, and will eventually have discussions of future trips.
