Hi All,

I got some nasty chips in my windshield this weekend from some unknown flying debris on the highway...

One deep chip (no crack), & one light chip with a crack...

Does anyone have any info on the best place to get a widshield repaired in Montreal/Laval? Are Vitres Lebeau & Duro my only options? Are chip repairs really "invisible"? Is this kind of repair reliable? Expensive?

Should I wait until Spring, in case I get more chips? (I have been hit before by flying rocks, but this has been the first visible damage).

Fioremini you have named the two places i would have recommended,is there a problem with these places that i should know about as they seem reputable and they have always given me good service..

I have never been to either place, but if they have good service, and do good work, that's all I need to know...and that's where I'll be going.

I would lean toward Duro for the glass as thats what they specialise in.... Although if a lebeau is closer for you they do good work also...

If the crack is not bigger than a looney, crack-repair companies will be able to repair it. Do not delay, as cracks tend to grow bigger with time and *sigh* our beautiful roads!

I've had my MINI for almost a year, and that's what happened to me on my FIRST week-end while driving to get my set of summer wheels from the previous owner! Imagine how ****ed I was when I realized what had happened!

From what I have gathered, Lebeau is part of a bigger company while Duro is smaller. Apparently they both do a good job, but you may want to ask your insurance company (if you decide to declare the incident) which company they recommend. They fill the crack with a kind of filler transparent paste. Apparently you see a slight hazing effect when you look at it in the sun light.

As for myself, I had to have the whole windshield replaced!

i go to canbec yesterday, and i ask him for the windshield, the windshield cost 280$ and 220$ for the installation .
