Hi Everyone,

I know there are a lot of MINI owners in Cowtown, because I've seen ya. I thought since spring is here we should organize a little gathering sometime in April. I was thinking of meeting up somewhere in the south, and then taking the 22X out to Bragg Creek for a coffee. We can check out each others MINI's and get to know each other.

that sounds good too. I'm a little disappointed in the number of replies too. I thought there were more MINI drivers from Cowtown online here. I post something up at the dealer.

That would be very fun...except only four people are replying...I know a friend that works at the Crowfoot Mini dealership. In fact, he owns a mini cooper s also. So if you can talk to him online about advertising this thing, that is if you are that much into organizing something for the mini owners in calgary, you should. His log in name is zerofighter

Hi, I'm up in Edmonton. I know there are other MINI's in town but our dealership isn't ready yet. It would be nice to meet other owners and socialize. Let me know if something is going on.

haha, thanks for telling the world where I work! Well...not anymore anyway. If you guys want me to advertise something along hte lines of a MINI meet, I'm sure the MINI sales are more then happy to lend a helping hand too us. Since I did favor them over the BMW side of the dealership.

Oh yea...I would definately come. Everyone should come to Bimmerfest 2005 tentatively on Sunday June 26, 2005 here in Calgary. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=100 There were no MINIs there last year.

I talked with the sales staff last week when I picked up my car (ac being fixed). They assured me that a MINI gathering in Calgary was being planned for late June or late July.

There were no replies, flooding in Bragg Creek and I got sent out of town that evening. I've given up on a meet for the time being.

Well someone organize it, and we will just see who shows up. I'll be there....as long as there are at least 2 MINIIs it will still be fun. Start small....lol.

Now we just need a place. I suggest parking lot by Tim Hortons at West Hills around 11am. Then cruise to Bragg Creek (what is the twisty highway up there? 462?)

Any thoughts?

There are not too many nice twisties within 10 minutes of city limit in Calgary, but the best route for a sunday afternoon drive that takes less than 3 hours would be to go on highway 8 (Glenmore Trail) out of town, then go south on Highway 22 into Bragg Creek, onto Highway 758, then turn east (left) onto highway 22, and back within city limits in Southern Calgary. For double the fun we could head backwards after 5km or so of Highway 22 and do the twisty bits again and head back to Westhills.

There is also a very nice twisty bit of road (but only about 3km long) just behind Strathcona heading onto highway 1. The road is "Old Banff Coach Road"
