Offline | Going to possibly buy Cooper S I'm going to possibly buy a Cooper S around the beginning of june. I've check with the dealer and they don't have the color that I want. So he told me that I would have to wait 2 months to get the car done and shipped from England. Man 2 months for a car. Do you think he's right when he say 2 months or it maybe more or less? Do you think I would better off to go with a color they already have even if I have to pay extra for some options that I don't realy want. And I need to know how much km you do with one tank with a Cooper S. Is there a Club of Mini in Montreal because I would gladly go to a meeting when I have the car. Let me know guy's. Thanks. |

Offline | 2 months sounds about right if the car is not built yet. imo if the difference in price / options between what they have and what you'd like is not excessive I'd say negociate part of the price hike and drive one now. Specially if you miss the summer that would be tough knowing the car is on its way Shop all mini dealers in your area some may be more open minded than others. When you do get your S don't expect to do better than 10L/100kms average. I just put some gas this morning, 31.5L for a little over 300kms. During winter time I usually got around 11-12 L/100kms. Summer time is not as bad, mixed city / highway is low 10Ls, all highway is below 10L but nowhere near 6L like someone mentioned here I mean cmon 6L/100 for an S??? I find it's a thirsty little car but well worth it. That chrysler engine is known to be inefficient, kuddos to bmw for making it what it is in the cooper. [EDIT] I think Viper is driving a cooper not an S, then 6 to 9L would sound about right. [/EDIT] |

Offline | We wanted a BRG MCs..they were not available till the 2003 model year . There were 14 people ahead of us on the waiting list to order. We only wanted the heated seats and BRG ...not $5000 worth of extras that the dealer was ordering all the models in for their showrooms. |

Offline | My '04 Cooper Classic took about 7 weeks from date of order to arrival at the dealer - in theory an S should take no longer. Fuel economy without the supercharger - I get about 550 - 600 km per tank, if I let it get quite low. Highway mileage is not that much greater than city driving. |

Offline | If a dealer finds a MINI for you thats already built, arrived to Canada, and not sold to anyone .. you're looking at about 1 1/2 week .... thats what happened to me back in March. Got everything I wanted except ( no white roof, No HK, extra ChronoPackage ) but I got a good discount on the car. If you order fresh and have the order process ... then for sure its going to be 2 months and a week so .... mind order time actually starts alot earlier than production time ... usually 2 weeks before each production date starts... I remember that I was into April production time when I ask about placing my order for my MCSA back in the middle of Febauary ... 2005 HB/HB MCSA !! ALL the package... ALL the Fun .. ALL the time !!! |

Offline | Hey I think I might have to give up something to get the car sooner. I wanted my S with no extra but now I'm willing to take the sports package or Premium package. I can take the white with black top or red and blue with with top. Do you think I can get a discount because I take a car with more options just because I want it faster? |

Offline | depends ... don't let them think that you're dying to have it ... it also depends on how their businesses is during that time .. when I purcahsed my car in march .. my dealership's business was slow .. so they offer me a discount to seal the deal .. but now with spring coming ... I doubt it ... 2005 HB/HB MCSA !! ALL the package... ALL the Fun .. ALL the time !!! |

Offline | That's the thing, spring time is not the ideal time to get deals. Still you should get a 500$ or more discount if you shop all 3 mini dealers laval-brossard-montreal since you take a car from their lot (they like that a lot better than ordering). If you don't get at least 500$ call a place like profusion or the apa they'll get you the discount, although they'll force you to go to a specific dealer/sales person, unless you mention this to your current sales guy then he may compensate to keep the sale. Also my advice is to go near the end of the month that's when they're more flexible so they can get a volume bonus. Btw I went on a 1000kms trip last weekend and managed a 8.3L/100kms, not bad. |
