Offline | Chrono Package Question We picked up our 2005 BEP MCS about a month ago and it is a fantastic car. I had to take it in for service and got a loaner to drive. Both our vehicle and the loaner had the chrono package. Our oil pressure and temperature gauges are in farenheit, whereas the loaner was in metric. Was there a switch or change made during production from imperial to metric? I am happy ours has the imperial measure. |

Offline | Hmm, you got me thinking....... I ordered the Chrono package as I wanted the speedo and tacho next to each other, not particularly for the info the gauges will give me. I have just checked the brochure and it shows oil pressure in bar and the temperatures in centigrade, this is what I hope I end up getting. What does the Canadian brochure show? |

Offline | I got the Chrono Package and I hope it's in centrigrade as well. Like the other person, I just wanted both the speedo and tach next to each other. I've driven the ION, Mini and the Toyota Echo and have never really liked the centre pod intrumentations. |

Offline | You know... I never even thought to look at that on my '05 BEP MCS, but mine are in imperial as well. See http://homepage.mac.com/pcuyegkeng/....2BEF3811D9.jpg . Curiously, my speedometer is in metric ONLY. I haven't had to drive into the US in this car as of yet, but I'm really going to have to remember how to convert km/h to mph in me ol' noggin. http://homepage.mac.com/pcuyegkeng/....41EF3811D9.jpg 2005 BEP MINI Cooper S |

Offline | I honestly don't look at my centre gauge cluster all that often. The tach and speedo are right in front of me, so I don't need to look over there much (usually when I start the car, and again when I've parked somewhere). For gas, I mostly go off of the OBC on the tach, and if it gets low then I'll glance over to see the gauge (since the OBC is just a prediction based on average consumption). It's mostly there for my passengers to gawk at. ![]() 2005 BEP MINI Cooper S |

| Beep! | I still don't have my chrono pack installed yet. I took delivery of my MINI on July 12th, without the chrono pack installed from the factory. I was told that they could get the OBC installed for me without a problem, but the speedometer above the steering column is normally "coded" to a specific VIN, so they would have to find one that had not been programmed yet. I still don't have the OBC, and I haven't heard much about the speedometer. For now, I'm just using the digital speedometer on the tach, but I really hate not having the extra gauges and OBC functions available to me. I'm definitely not a fan of "dummy lights". I like to have feedback on what's going on in the car at all times. I guess I'll give it another few days and give them a call. I haven't responded to the MINI survey yet, until I see how this is handled. |
