Hello,
I am new to this forum but have been reading a lot of great information and I am now set on getting a mini for myself!
I am wondering if anyone has a used mini that needs a good home in Ontario. I am looking for a cooper (or cooper s if the price is right) with the premium and sports packages.
I was recently out in BC test driving some cars and fell in love. I was out testing a Mazda3 Sport which I enjoyed but unfortunately for the Mazda dealer the BMW dealer was right across the street. I ventured over to check out the mini's (which I knew very little about) and soon knew a lot more! After an amazing test drive (the salesman basically re-enacted the chase scene from "The Italian Job" and a great test drive myself (in which I got pulled over by the cops but luckily let go with just a warning since I was on a test drive) I am now convinced this is the car for me. Unfortunately the new price tag with all of the good ol' Canadian taxes is a little out of my price range. I thought it may be a good idea to ask on here since it seems like all of you are as nutz about your Mini's as I hope to soon be. I would rather get a car from a car nut that I know would properly take care of a car and would like there baby to go to a new good home.
I am located in Kingston, Ontario but am willing to do some driving (to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, etc) if the car sounds right.

Hola! Good decision; you wouldn't want to be yet another one of a bajillion Mazda3 driver's out there. Very good car, but all of the compacts from the major asian manufacturers look the dang same and lack personailty.

Check around on AutoTrader.ca. There are always a dozen or so used MINIs listed. Should see a crop of new listings as the 2006 models start being delivered. You could also try contacting MINI Ottawa (or whatever dealership is closest to you) to see what pre-owned stock they might have. Sometimes more expensive than a private sale, but in theory it should be BMW certified with warranty, etc. As you can tell by surfing around here, lots of people trade in their original 2002/2003 MINIs for newer models (or even late model MC to go MCS), so there should be afew out there for you to look at.

Thanks for the help! I have been looking at Autotrader.ca but I would prefer to find a private sale as I have a better chance of finding out a bit of history on the car. On autotrader most of the cars are dealer cars. I have a couple of prospects now which is great! If anyone else has a car or knows of one please pass it my way.

Does anyone have an opinion about if the sports package is really worth it? I have seen a couple of cars now and I really like the sports seats but I'm wondering if it is worth looking a car off if it doesn't have them. Any long term testimonials?

For me, I like to slide in butt-first, so I usually crash into the bolsters. What does the Sports Package entail? I think it's just a package with a slight discount. If you find you like what it offers, then definitely ask for it.

The a la carte method works great with the Mini, since you've got so many options.

Just wanted to mention that I am still looking for that perfect used mini. I got some great leads from people off here but unfortunately none of them panned out. Just to update I am looking for a used Cooper 2003-2005 with moonroof and cruise control. If it also has other features such as sport seats and such this is of course a bonus!! I am located in Kingston, Ontario so if anyone in the Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal regions have a sweet car that I should check out please let me know!!

Thetod you still looking for a MCS/05??. i have one thats is modded a bit , with MTH,Alta15% pully ,Andy's HAI ,215/45/17 yokos,H-sport springs and Ian C circute.
if you wanna take over the lease she is all yours, i live about 2 1/2 hrs out of kingston in hudson Quebec.
