Motor Trend article on the 2005 MCSa

Haven't seen this posted here yet. Motor Trend had a road test with a 2005 MCSa.

http://motortrend.com/roadtests/coup...08_minicooper/

I got the impression from the article that they appear to think that the MCSa is a bit of a pig. Their 0-60 times seem to be a bit off though...

Is it true less than 10% of cars sold in Canada and US are
manuals???Wow that number seems low.

This was from either the August or September issue. I subscribed to it and got that particular issue right before my MCSa was delivered to me.

Doesn't surprise me at all.. its one reason acura's are priced the same as automatics and some automakers charge for manuals. And have you seen a new SUV or a truck with a Manual? not likely.

I think the reason that the MCSa is slower in the tests is that one you can't dump the clutch, and the shifts are slightly delayed. They probably rev it to the max then shift. You probably can get a better time if you shift right before the car hits max so the delay will match the max rev.
