Offline | Technomage: I'd be more than happy to give you his name/address etc. However, I live in the Long Beach/Huntington Beach area and depending upon where you are located, I'm not sure if the detailer will be able to travel to where you are located. (He normally goes to your house or place of business to detail the car.) E-mail me at: ftbtlatex@aol.com and I will give you all the details. Offline | Thanks for the link! Good positive article regarding a CVT no less. My car is at the VPC and if they ever let it out, I'm more than ready to test my own CVT. Close, but still waiting.... Silk Green w/ Black roof; CVT; DSC; Cruise; kaleido black cloth int; 16 in. 5-star wheels |

Offline | The review summed up what I have noticed with my CVT. The hesitation when you first start out was a little hard to get used to for me. Now I don't even think about it. With the CVT the car always seems to be right in the power band and pulls well. With it in SD it is even more noticable. I am very impressed with the CVT. |

Offline | The MINIbull has arrived ![]() We just returned from our first motor. Three hours and 100 miles later we had wandered around a good bit of Baltimore County with a brief sojourn into Bel Air to Crazy Al’s pit beef on US 1. Never looked at a map just pretty much went by feel. So far the CVT is fantastic. Our other car is a 96 Honda Civic w/ CVT so I was ready for the hesitation when starting. I can tell you that its much less in the Cooper. Let me also say something you all mostly know; this car (CVT or not) really wants to go. Merging on our mid-Atlantic Interstates is not always very fun, but "The Bull" handled the task with aplomb and I didn't even have to challenge him. Interesting bit from my dealer was that they contend there is no break-in required, though I think I'll heed the generalized advice from all over this board and give him 1200 miles to get his legs! What a complete laugh riot driving this car is! Had two "What kind of car is that?/It's cool!" and one guy in a pickup truck leaning out the window giving a thumbs up yelling "Way cool". How can you beat that! Stares were too numerous to count. Silk Green w/ Black roof; CVT; DSC; Cruise; kaleido black cloth int; 16 in. 5-star wheels |

Offline | How do you like the Kaleido cloth seats? And are they sport seats or standard issue? I've also got a SG on order with cloth, premium package, 5-star whites and white roof/mirrors. Wonder about the seats |

Offline | Cloth Seats..... ....are superb. They're the standard. I like that the cloth is not highly napped. This to me facilitates entry and exit. For the most part I think the cloth seats remain more comfortable (read temperature stable). I really couldn't ask for more from the seats performance on the first road trip. Within 60 hours of picking up the car we had put 1000 miles on it. Lots of wheel and passenger time on lots of "twisties". I had no trouble staying in the seats whether driver or passenger. I did prefer driving, but not necessarily because of the seats ![]() Also, everything BillSz regarding the CVT was spot on and I agree wholeheartedly. When I return from this business trip, it will be time for sport mode. Can't wait ![]() Silk Green w/ Black roof; CVT; DSC; Cruise; kaleido black cloth int; 16 in. 5-star wheels |

Offline | It seems to me that the CVT "hesitation" is getting a bum rap in Edmunds' 0 - 60 mph timings. Surely this "hesitation" in a CVT should be compared to the time that has to be taken, in a manual shift, to push the gear lever forward, to increase the revs and to release the clutch. In measuring 0 - 60 timings with a manual transmission car, I'll bet they already have engaged the gear and have revved the engine pretty high before they start the stopwatch. If a CVT were timed against a manual that began in neutral from a standing start, I suspect the CVT would be pretty similar in its time to 60 mph. Does anyone know exactly how they do these measurements? Chili red Cooper/white roof/CVT/sunroof/DSC "Max" arrived on 19th August 2002 License plate: OURMINI |
