Unhappy my automatic steptronic stalled...

while accelerating from a complete stop, my S convertible steptronic stalled. i had to restart the car. This is the 1st time that it happened. Has anyone experience this?

My car will downshift and shudder somewhat violently if I don't feed the gas at low speeds. So perhaps you were coasting and it just ran out of fuel?

Sorry, but I'm not an expert on these matters. All I know is that I usually ease from a complete stop and then revvv once I hit 2nd or 3rd gear.

Neither the MCSa or the MCSCa of ours has ever done that. If it happens again and again, it is a fault. Once is probably a program glitch. Fuzzy logic in the engine and trans software tries to keep guessing what you are going to do next, and sometimes you can fool it. My tin top gets confused as to what is going on when I accelerate hard from a stop and then cruise at 35 mph.

Keep track of when it does it, how long you had been driving, what you were doing at the time, and then take the info to the dealer. Let us know how it goes.

Never happened in my old ONE and Iv had it for almost 3 years and not 1 stall, if it happens again I recommend taking it in for them to look at.... Autos are not supposed to stall
