switching out

so i have read through the threads and i dont believe anyone has posed this question. i apologize if someone has, perhaps i was careless, but regardless,

is it bad to switch out of the steptronic mode while the car is moving.
i.e. if i am driving through my neighborhoods playing with the step tronic, and i dont want to use it any more, should i stop and switch? or just switch it right over? thanks guys

You can switch between any of the modes while driving D - SD - M - D. You certainly do not have to stop in order to disengage the "manual" option, just pull (in the US) the gear lever over to the left drive position. In fact you can even use the paddles to force the gearbox to shift up or down even in D (within limits) and after a while it will revert to D.

I doubt it. I don't think the transmission cares too much if it is the driver or the computer sending it a signal to shift.
