Reverse to Drive jolt

My wifes new to her Mini One goes from reverse to drive with a jolt its almost as if the engine is running to fast.

Engine was surging whilst in drive at stop i have removed and cleaned the throttle assembly and this has cured that.

Any ideas on the jolt?

It will be getting a full service next week incl new trans oil.

I would experience a jolt if I went from reverse to drive too quickly. I noticed it especially if the enging was cold.

My solution is once I'm in reverse, I apply the brake, wait a second, then shift into drive.

Actually, I have to revise the order a bit after testing. (I just went outside to consciously check what I do!)

Once you're in reverse, shift to foward, then wait a second (you don't even really have to apply the brake if you're moving a little bit), then apply the gas.

It seems if you apply the gas too soon, you're forcing the CVT to shift a bit to quickly for its own good.

Lisa just tried both methods and it stills jolts, this is her third auto the other two were Mercs with slush boxs as opposed to cvt, i have noticed it seems to drag a bit a tickover as well.

what i do is (when the engine is cold), i leave my Mini to warm-up to half of the temp gauge, and when i shift from P to D, there's still a slight jolt but not as violent as when the engine is cold
