2003 MINI CVT-Keep or Sell/Trade?

Hi All,
I have a 2003 MINI with CVT. I have not had any problems, but as I approach 60K miles, I'm worried about a CVT failure after reading threads in this forum. I'm planning on getting a new MINI in the future, but think that with my CVT it might be better to trade sooner rather than later. Thoughts? Opinions?
Thanks!

I understand your concern, but it's hard to say if the CVTs are really more fragile than other transmissions. It certainly seems like we've heard too many stories of CVTs failing. On the other hand back in November I started a thread to keep track of a bunch of CVTs to see if any failed and so far not one of the 15 cars has reported a CVT problem. The cars ranged from 10k to 100,000K miles. I think in your shoes I might trade in if I knew for sure I would get a new MINI anyway in the not to distant future. In my case I've always intended to keep my MINI for a long time so I'm going to stick with it despite the possibility that the transmission won't last. Currently mine has 75,000 miles and no problems.

Thanks for the advice! I bought a new MINI Cooper a few weeks ago and sold the old MINI to CarMax!
