Got an 03 plate cooper auto here 18500 miles. Currently getting around 310-325 miles from each tank. Have mostly been doing long runs on A roads and Motorways with only a couple of short town drives a week. I usually fill up when the red fuel light comes on and manage to get between 40/41 litres in the tank. Maths is definately not my strong point but i estimate im getting about 34mpg at the moment.

Havnt got the benefit of an onboard computer to let me known about mpg etc.

Drew :-)

220 on full tank seems very low. My '02 Cooper w/CVT and nearly 78,000 miles is usually good for 360 miles before the light comes on and I could probably eek out another 60 or so miles after that. That's from mixed freeway/town driving (say 65/35).

We own a 2003 MC with CVT. We just returned from a trip to Maine from our Home in NH. The trip to Maine was a little over 100 miles to our destination. We averaged 34.7 MPG . Very pleased with the MPG on our MINI

I am also - sorry meant to reply earlier. Been using BP Ultimate for the past few weeks and have noticed a difference in driving and economy.

I have had a Cooper CVT (2002 model, 19k miles) for over a year and get around 24mpg (imperial) around town.
Cross country about 30 mpg, motorway journeys 37mpg!
The car has been back to a MINI dealer, who has upgraded the software (to version 26).
This had the effect of raising the gearing slightly (ie lowering engine revs), which should improve fuel consumption BUT engine braking has suffered, as has tickover speed.
It's going back again soon . . . .

Is it time for another Mileage Contest with a Poll, for the CVT only?

Please vote and add any comments about how you'd like it run if we did it again. What rules should apply? Here are some links to several of the past efforts for idea of what has been done before:
