Thumbs down Stall in '08 Auto

I've got a convertible built in Feb of 08 with about 4K miles on it. Yesterday, I experienced a complete stall in traffic. I had stopped for a light and pulled out, making a right turn. This was in a downtown area (20 mph speed limit) so I wasn't accelerating hard. As I made the turn, the engine just died. I believe I was in SD mode at the time. I restarted the engine and it came back right away. It was warm, maybe 80-85 degrees, but not really hot and certainly not cold. I'd been driving for about 10 minutes, so the engine was warm too.

Since this car was built so recently, I'm assuming that its got the latest software and the benefit of 5+ years of tweaks. Are stalls like this common? I'm pretty happy with the car overall, but the idea of random stalls has me a bit worried. Hopefully, this'll be a one time event, but I'd be happy to hear reassurrances from other late model Automatic owners.

My car has stalled a couple of times first thing in the morning (I've got a Cooper Convertible built in Oct '07) which may have been due to me changing the brand of petrol I use, but otherwise I have not had any stalling problems.

Hope this reassures you!
