Offline | Really? 9 seconds? is that with sports mode? Mine seems much faster, I can beat my friend's manual VW Passat at a traffic light. If it is 9 seconds it certainly doesn't feel like it, which is what matters to some people. |

Offline | Not by much. If I understand these things correctly (which I may not) you have to subtract Electric109's reaction time from those times, so that would put him at 62 mph in about 10.4 seconds |

| DRIVER | After spending some time figuring out how to get my CVT MINI to legitimately launch off the line, I am sure I can make a time under 10 seconds. The first 20 mph or so is rediculously inhibited by the throttle by wire technology (and possibly the CVT's computer programming in gearing).... |

Offline | elect, Thanks for the stats. The only problem is that they are for the Supercharged S. The same exhaust that might show a 10 HP gain on he S will most likely only give you 5hp on a normal cooper since a supercharged engine will recieve greater performance since it is moving more air and the blower increases the CFM then a stardard cooper. While raw HP improvements are great , it would be better if it showed how it directly improved performance and if the HP was improved in lower RPMs or higher RRMs. I really think the stock cooper needs some more low end grunt to get it off the line faster. |

Offline | Electrc109, have you continued to experiment? I'm coming up on three days where I get to play in controlled conditions and I would be interested in any lessons learned since December? | #1647 of 1960 | Add: Unless one of you guys can pull a **fast** one at the track it looks like the CVT is a 10. All the numbers say so, MINI says so too. I really-really-like all this car has to offer, but for some stupid reason if it were just *1* measly second faster I would be nicely content. Is that just ridiculous or what?!? And check this out, there's a 2 mile long expressway connector close by that I take to work & back, its a perfect place to try stuff, and almost everytime I accelerate hard this guy in a silver Golf TDI shows up out of thin air to try and race me! It's like the butler in Mr. Deeds. So wierd. Probably fortunate that I DON'T think I have a fast car!! |

Offline | I am about to order a 2004 Mini Cooper with CVT. Like many of you, I wish the car had a little more power off the starting line. (Are you reading this MINIUSA?) It is hard to believe that the Mini is almost 2 seconds slower than the 0-60 time for my 2002 Honda CRV. |
