Prefer to use the Steptronic from the gear shift selector. the E-shift steering wheel paddles are mostly a toy in my view and only useful for race track drivers.

But if you like them, more power to ya....

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to be retrofitted. It's probably going to be costly, but I imagine they'll be able to do it!

Was at my local MINI (Oakville) dealer today and my "Motoring Advisor" John said they had a CVT with the new shifters a week or two ago but it went right out again for an order, so still have yet to see them in person, I'd settle for a photo but it seems no one on MINI2 has one yet :-/ I didnt see any photos on the Miniusa site either

Hmm, I don't like them too much, I imagined more of a paddle where the buttons on the back of the MFSW are.

It's a great idea but if it is going to look that ugly I'll pass! If they did something more like a Ferrari Paddle Shift (and on a Cooper S) I'd be running to my nearest dealer!

hmm.. im a little sceptical.. actually i dont believe they are real..

for starters its not even a multi-funtion wheel, i couldnt see the option being available on a normal wheel for reasons such a wiring etc..

secondly, most manufacturers put an up/down shift on both sides of the wheel, which this doesnt seem to have. you may be able to explain this by saying that it could be a push/pull paddle-like operation, but you could never get your hand around the back of the wheel in normal driving. its just not ergonomic looking. oh and there is no labeling, and the buttons would more than likely be a contrasting colour to the wheel trim (a safety aspect)

i think we've been had
