Great idea -

I'm beginning to think it might be worth the extra trouble to try and import a MINI from Canada

Or at least a MFSW with paddle shifters...

Anybody know if these shifters work via "remote" or are there some more connections that need to be made behind the steering wheel.

This'd be a HOT mod. I wouldn't think that it would be that hard to unload a MFSW to someone without, as I understand that the "MF" parts are "remote"...

Is it as simple as a steering wheel swap?

I'm really interested in working this out.

They are available in Canada as I have them on my March 03 MINI. I too have not had the opportunity to use them yet as I am still running it in. I can't wait, they look like fun.

Hi I picked my new mini - automatic with steptronic on Saturday ans it has changed. no longer are they little paddles on the steering wheel - It s now on the gear stick. you pull it over to the right when you are in drive anhd use it forwards and backwards to change up aqnd doen gear.

Looks much much classier than the old paddles!!!!!

I'm very happy with it. Will take a pick and post it later.

That's the system it's always used since day one, the paddles are the new thing.

thats whats on my option sheet. to tell you the truth i'd like to have both but the paddles should be on the stock where the signal and wiper controls are instead of on the wheel

To the Paddle owners !.

Please explain why you can't use them during the 'Running in period ' ???.

If this is a specified option ? , I would be using them from day one.

In the UK the paddles are a £50 additional option at the time of order.

Red Cooper

Lumspeed........Obviously the paddles can technically be used during the 'running in period' I guess if myself and others aren't using them it's down to personal choice really......dropping the CVT into sports drive increases the revs by 1000rpm which could easily push the revs over the 4500rpm recommended running in period limit etc.......
