Offline | Hesitation of CVT Gearbox or Engine? I've found a new problem on my MC CVT after collecting it from the dealer for annual oil service. The case is that, car stopped, A/C switched on, foot on brake, D position, 2 persons on board, slope running up the hill. When I switch my right foot onto the gas pedal, I hear some strange sound underbeath the bonnet and feel the car hesitating to go upwards. If steady pressure is inserted onto the pedal, the power will resume and everything back to normal after a secong or 2. Could any body give me some advice? Manho PS: Everything under the bonnet is stock equipment. No modification at all. Last edited by ar75 : May 31st, 2003 at 11:50 PM. |

Offline | Ask your dealer to hook up the OBD computer interface (A laptop computer) to find out what version of the controlling software you have. If you have anything below version 32.2 (Current one) then ask them to perform a DME reflashing using the latest version of the software code. Acetonic is right. Your dealer will not upgrade your software automatically unless such upgrade is required via a Technical Service bulletin or a recall. There is definetely something wrong going on under your bonnet. Take it back to the dealer and better yeat, if all possible, bring the technician along with you to the same hilly street or a similar sloped street to demonstrate the problem. Better yet let him drive the car along the way so he can get an exact feel as to what the car is doing. Good luck. '02 MINI Cooper CVT On Order: 2004 MCS (Est production date: 9/5/03) |

Offline | HI guys, Thers is nothing deal with the computer, gerbox and the engine. The plastic mountings connecting the air induction hose and the housing of the air filter were damaged. The dealer replaced the whole induction kit and the filter for me. However, I found the car staggering when moving slowly. I had to drive it back to the dealer the next morning. they gave me a courtesy E46 318i. Not bad. the build quality and overall performance are better than my Mini. But.....I still miss my beloved chili red Mini. |
