q's about cvt and other problems

i keep reading posts about the cvt transmission lurching forward, and stalling. I also here that the software update will fix it. I am picking up my brand new mini that i ordered on saturday. I have a cvt transmission, and was wondering if there is anything that i should ask my dealer to prevent problems. Such as software updates and so on. I live about 2 hours from the nearest service center so i would like to get all the updates before i pick it up. Or if there are any other problems common in general that i should bring up to my dealer.

thanks for your help

VPC should have loaded the lastest software into your MINI before it ever arrives at your dealer (that is if any software updates have occured since it was built)

As long as your CVT is a recent build you will not have any problems. I have a May 03 CVT and it is fantastic! I think you will find most of the problems were with early build cars.

My only advice would be check the paint quality very carefully before you accept the car.
