Offline | my 02 cvt will not shift properly and from what i have read on here i think i need to have new software updates. my local dealer (2hours away!) wont let me just bring up the computer , said i would have to trailer the car to them!!! i actually took the computer up there yesterday and the service manager said that since i pulled it out myself that it wouldnt be covered under warranty, and that i would have to put it back in the car and let his service tech pull it out!!! i know i read on here somewhere that someone sent there computer out and had it back in a few days. | Back... | Call the Mini Service, they will tow your Mini to the dealer. There should be a sticker in the boot or in your guide book. I am surprised the dealer won't take a look at it. Get the Mini to the dealer and have the service manager drive it. He might think twice once he has done that. Also I know your 2 hours away (I am 75 minutes from mine, so I feel for you). Is there another dealer within 30 minutes of the first dealer, you might have better luck there. Give it a try. Winslow ![]() This space for Rent |

Offline | The Sending Out Of The Car's Computer Is Done By The Dealers; They Send Them To The Factory For Reprogramming. I Work In The Service Dept Of A Mini Dealer And There Really Is No Way For Us To Program Anything In Your Car Without Having The Whole Car In The Shop. Where We Plug In To Check All The Systems Is Under The Dash, We Don't Plug Into Each Computer Individualy.hope This Clairifys |

Offline | Just this last Friday (12/12/03) I was at Tate MINI of Annapolis, MD for my scheduled maintenance. Along with that, I had also listed some CVT driveability issues. I was told by the service advisor that the MINI facility in NJ was no longer accepting DMEs (computers) from dealerships because they have a huge backlog of them. So many that by the time they could get to them, the CD will be in the dealers' shops, and it will no longer be necessary to send the DME to NJ. The CDs are suppose to be out mid to late January per Tate. (But then we've hear things like that before haven't we) -=Mike=- laissez les bons temps rouler Last edited by valnmike : Dec 15th, 2003 at 05:24 PM. |
