Offline | CVT to 5-speed Has anyone tried converting their CVT MC to a 5-speed ? Wondering if there was anything that would prevent a conversion... Inputs ? AOH... Sept'02 Chilli Red Cooper |

Offline | Factually, I have no details to offer, but ... It would seem that the primary constraints would be Cost (as Spookyfish asked) and willingness to go through the Process and Effort (hours). You could probably just trade the cars much more inexpensively. The MINI is completely modular. I saw a Cooper at the dealership yesterday that was completely $tripped out to the body shell; part$ in boxe$ everywhere! The owner burned out the wiring harne$$ with an aftermarket $tereo, and it wa$ being replaced with new part$ and harne$$. The Driveline components can be dropped, new ones installed, and the software flashed. I'm sure it can be done ... with money. Offline | True about CO$T... but I was actually thinking about a free replacement under warranty after reading another thread about someone's CVT premature expiration...No problems with mine so far... only done ~9,000km AOH... Sept'02 Chilli Red Cooper |

Offline | They wouldn't do that. Replacing the CVT unit will be cheaper. It's like: my Boost radio doesn't work, now give me a H/K (or the other way round actually). Black / Whte Cooper |
