i have just found that CooperS CVT is now available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT news to many of us i guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just wish JCW will still be available for CVT CooperS too!!!!!!!!!!
any MINI owner/fans know anything about this???

My wife is waiting for this. Since, she wants Electric Blue and that color only comes in Cooper S in US....so now she is real happy!

....I need to put more mod to my car to keep mine up in front!

It is not a CVT tranmission. It is a regulary slush box made by Aisin, and already used in the Audi TT and the New Beetle.

Did you notice? In the miniusa configurator, you can now also get the LSD (limited slip differential) installed when you order the MCS. But you cannot get both the LSD and the automatic. Is there not enough space for both or was that just a marketing decision?

I thought there should be a link to the Thread that Paul referenced in Future Variants where people have written nearly 900 Posts expressing lots of opinion, displayed facts, and had a bit of fun with the new 2005 Automatic Cooper S

It will be a very different car than the CVT-equipped MINIs, and distinctive mechanically from the 6-speed Cooper S. Opinions will develop when we can drive one.
