Offline | MPG with CVT What kind of mpg are you getting with your CVT's? Am looking into getting an MC auto and was curious. Especially interested in in town as I live in C. London. Thanks! |

Offline | I use premium gas and at 1500 miles, I get between 27-29 mpg. I have seen it decrease slightly as the break-in period is over and I've been driving more in SD mode and shifting manually. The fun has been worth it! On a longer highway trip, I got 30+ mpg. |

Offline | I'm getting in the mid to high 20MPG, which fluctuates around town in hilly San Diego, but on my trip to Phoenix just this last weekend, I got 32 MPG on the flatlands at around 75 MPH in 'D', and 29MPG avg on the mountains at about 70 MPH in 'D'; all being freeway miles being done with the Cruise Control on almost all the time. In town the rate fell to the mid to high 20's again, but it was fairly consistent due the flat nature of Phoenix, AZ. The days I get into the SD or Manual mode, it drops into the low 20s, on occaision. ;-) I imagine if I kept at 50 with the Cruise Control on, the mileage could get into the high 30's. Never have put in anything less than 91 octane. BCNU, Rob in Dago ![]() Brooksie, the 2002 BRG & W Cooper, lets me sit in the drivers seat sometimes. |

Offline | I usually check the OBC against calculated MPG and the computer on my mine usually indicates a bit less than the MPG I calculate from the trip odometer divided by the gallons pumped in. That said, I was getting 30-32 in much of my driving, and was actually getting up to 34 MPG shown on the OBC for my drive into work in the mornings. (Lots of flashing lights and light traffic) That was up until 12 Nov. 04. Then I had the emissions recall done at Tate Mini in Annapolis. Since then I have not been able to attain 30 MPG in any driving scenario. The OBC shows ~28.3 right now. The Wash. DC weather is pretty much the same now as it was before the s/w change, so I don’t think that’s the cause. I have an appointment for my ~25K maint. on 8 Feb. at Mini of Towson. I want to talk to them to see if they can explain what happened to kill the great mileage I was getting before the s/w update. Any of you experience anything like this when you had a s/w update? -=Mike=- laissez les bons temps rouler |

Offline | Using optimax, I get about 36mpg mixed. Over 300+ miles to a tank. Last refill for example was about 326 miles for 41 litres (9 UK Gallons). That give about 36mpg. Mini One. Cheers, Vader |

Offline | Our family driving environment has changed to include more city commute driving, and overall mileage dropped into the very high 20's (as others have said here). To have some fun reading what others have contributed on the subject, use Search with "CVT" and "MPG" or "mileage" or "fuel economy" or other words like that. It's had some real debate on MINI2. Here's just a couple of links to start: Official US MPG figures 1st Annual Gas Mileage Contest '02 MINI Cooper CVT(6/12/02; Indi Blue/Black, R-81 7-hole 15x5.5" or NZO 16x6.5") '67 Austin Cooper S (6/26/67; Tartan Red/Black, 10x4.5") |

Offline | A little better effort with the math generates 31.3mpg US. '02 MINI Cooper CVT(6/12/02; Indi Blue/Black, R-81 7-hole 15x5.5" or NZO 16x6.5") '67 Austin Cooper S (6/26/67; Tartan Red/Black, 10x4.5") |
