2005 Cvt?

I am thinking of trading my 04 CVT in for an 05. The last two MINIs Ive had (2003 and 2004) were both CVTs. Both had a HORRIBLE vibration in the seat and shifter upon acceleration and got even more prounounced in the cold weather. I have had CVT loaners which are nice and smooth and driven others CVTs so I know this is not normal. i find it strange that I got two CVTs in a row with this issue. How many I wonder come off with this problem. Anyway, I am thinking of trading in for an 05 and wiping out my bank account. haha. Wondering what people are finding with the current 2005 CVTs? Are there problems? I cant afford yet another problem MINI. Thanks.

I have had my 2005 CVT since August and I have 9500 miles on it and have not had any problems at all.

I'm curious why the switch from 2003 to 2004..? Was it because of the vibration?

Why don't you get the problems fixed under warranty? If they can't fix them, then invoke the lemon law. Try here http://www.lemonlawamerica.com/ or here http://www.nationallemonlawcenter.com/

It seems ludicrous to resort to paying to trade in for new.

ouch horrid luck. If you can't handle the 2004 then I'd go for an 05 since being MINIless (in my option) is not an option. Best of luck!
