Offline | MINI Cooper auto/CTV My wife and I were in one of our favorite places, last weekend: Asheville, NC for the Arts & Crafts thing at the Grove Park (circa 1900's and replicas) and were anxious to take the new MINI on the road. The previous week, before our trip, we had a problem with the car acting as if it was trying to start off in 2nd. gear, with high revs needed to get it moving; the next morning, it was if we were in 4th. gear and wound up having it towed to the dealer in Cincinnati, about 12 miles away. They kept it for almost a week and reprogrammed the 'puter; I told them that we were leaving that same day for North Carolina and were a little concerned but they assured us that when this had been done in the past, they never had any more problems with the tranny/'puter. Off we went and the morning after arriving, I went out to start the car and back up and it again acted as if it were in 2nd. gear; didn't do too much driving in the hilly/mountainous terrain and the following day (Saturday), it acted as though it were in 4th. gear. Anyway, it is still in Greenville SC, where they claim there is nothing wrong with the car and can't get any fault codes out of the computer; our dealer in Ohio doesn't want to send anyone down to drive it back, as they are afraid he will get stranded, as we did. I think I want another car, but so far doesn't qualify as a lemon! Jan |

Offline | Hello! Welcome to MINI2! One dealer is claiming nothing wrong while the other thinks it'll break down on them? You should get both dealers to call each other and figure out which one is right. It has to be a mapping problem if they can't find anything mechanical wrong. Anyhow, good luck on the issue and keep us posted!***BMW-AG Rocks!!!*** Portsmouth FC Can Thank Sunderland...What a Farce!!! |
