Offline | I have a 15% pulley which I got from MINIMADNESS and will have our local MINI BMW garage install it in two weeks. They suggest I use the JCW belt and remap ECU with version 1 Works plan. I am sure my warranty is screwed but the car is 2 years old so OK to start playing with it. I have also put custom extractors (headers) and a REMUS exhaust which has so-far made a big improvement. Looking forward to what a pulley upgrade will do, because in this part of the world, everyone seems happy to oulay A$11,500 for the works kit!. Not me, says I....... 2006 HB/W MCS JCW |

Offline | Officially ... you cannot use the JCW engine programming except on a JCW equipped vehicle. The dealership is supposed to register JCW upgraded vehicles, and can only re-upgrade those ones. Apparently unofficially, some dealerships don't care too much about the risk of breaking these rules and being caught ... ![]() |

Offline | yikes OK to answer your problems. I wouldn't recommend the mini-mania kit because the mcsa engine computer is extremely sensitive even with the ecu upgrade. And the warranty will be void on engine components even if a dealer installs the aftermarket parts. only mini certified parts will be covered under the warranty. |

Offline | Magnuson-Moss In the US anyway, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects you from having your warranty voided. As I understand it, the law requires that the dealer _prove_ that the modification was the cause of the problem before they can void the warranty. I found a link with specific information but the forum says I can't post it here for some reason. But if you put the name into Google, I'm sure you can find plenty of details. Offline | that is correct. However, just find dealers that have contracts with mini mania. I personally know a couple of people who got their MCSA's upgraded with mini mania parts and still have full warranty coverage. 2005 MCSA HB/W |
