Offline | best straight line performance assuming a driver is familiar enough with the CVT modes to extract the best power out of them, which gives the best straight line performance from 0 - SD or steptronic? whatabout if the car is already moving? any difference here? |

Offline | yes. a few observations of my own...(i drive a CVT Mini One) 1) in steptronic, the car pulls nicely from about 2000 to 3000rpm even though peak power on paper is around 4krpm. 2) i understand what the point past the detent (the click after wot) or whatever you guys call it is for. true you don't get maximum power there but it's a quick way to tell the computer "I want my revs NOW". i'm still trying to learn how to use the steptronic properly as i always end up shifting gears (up or down) at the wrong time and the computer refuses to acknowledge it. is steptronic better for aggressive driving around corners? i'm having a lot more fun with the CVT after reading that post. thanks guys! i still have much to learn! |
