Offline | We got a 2006 MCSa from Westchester Mini ,White Plains, NY. The original idea was to browse through the dealers, test drive and then decide upon the dealer. Our first stop was Westchester Mini, considering that they are only 2 miles from home. We walked in and were greeted by one of their new MAs. He told us that the MA was doing a delivery and will be in shortly. In the meantime, he invited us to walk around the cars on display, sit around and was answering our questions. When Steve, our MA, finished with the delivery, he came in, and spent nearly 2 hours going through everything we had to ask. He had his own website, where he had pictures of Minis in all possible color combinations and interiors. Also took us to Motoringfile and NAM to show us the checkered package. No surprises, but we ended up placing an order right then. This was on Saturday. On Moday. I got an email from Steve with a scanned copy of the order with the production number. A couple of days later, we got our VIN. Went over a couple of times to hand in the deposit, enquire about custom plates and add some options. Steve was always helpful, patient and willing to go the extra mile. He also set me up with a decent deal from Mini FS. (I got a better deal from CapOne, but still opted for Mini FS, coz the difference was only $500 over 3 years). He kept us informed of the progress of the car regularly and also kept us informed of the happenings in the Mini World. Ours was one of the first MCS with a silver roof for US!!!! After a wait of nearly 5 weeks, Steve called up one Friday inform us that the car was at the dealership. I asked him whether we can take delivery the next day. He told me that he has to confirm with finance and service. He called up a couple of hours later to confirm that delivery the next day was scheduled. Come Saturday, we were there at the dealer all eager and ready. Steve took about 10 minutes to get the documentation done and then came the GOODIES!!! We were expecting the Mini Mints and a psoter. Steve overdid himself in loading us up with freebies. Got a Cooper S cap for myself, a Mini mug and a Mini keychain with a bulldog. My wife got a Mini cap, a Mini keychain and a Paint-Your-Mini mug. We also got a silver Mini model car. Documentation done and surprises over, we went into the garage to pick up our Mini. Wow!! all polished up and neat. Steve took nearly an hour going through the whole car and finally let us go with a wave. I had dropped in a couple of times to pick up my registration and maintenance agreement and Steve was always happy to talk to me. Now nearly 1500 miles later, I have my first problem with the car. It has been pulling to the left under heavy braking. So I call up Westchester Mini and htey have asked me to drop the car off tomorrow in the morning. Unfortunately, no loaners!! Guess you can't have everything.Overall the experience has been great!! I will post an update about how the service went, this being my first encounter with the dreaded Mini service department. |

Offline | Service is great too!! Turns out that there was nothing wrong with the brakes or the alingment. Must be just a one-off when the car dragged to left under heavy braking. Just a free car wash coupon from the service department for the trouble I pu then through.... Westchester Mini ...YOU ROCK!!! Keep it up!!!!!! |
