I am pretty close to purchasing a mini... However I want a specific configuration cooper S checkmate etc etc... But I don't want to wait forever to get the car... east bay mini does msrp, but the wait list is pretty bad. I'd ideally like to pay LESS than MSRP but that probably would be very unlikely. Anyway... any pointers or advice would be much appreciated.

Baton Rouge eh?? They didn't have anything on the list that looked good to me. Closest was the space blue... but I want a space blue checkmate with LSD, premium maybe (I think I may get what's in the premium minus the sunroof) Convenience, and the HK stereo... I think that's it, I may be missing something, but in any case, I'd probably have to order from most places... How long is the waiting list over there in Baton Rouge?

I had a one week wait on mine before the order was submitted to Mini. They do MSRP and Utah is a puddle jumper flight from Reno where I live and a day or two drive back. I might take the longer way just to have a two day break in drive through Death Valley. My Mini S is out of production tomorrow and probably getting it about Xmas. Every where else I checked into had either a long wait list or added a premium on top of MSRP.

Try South Bay MINI in Torrance, CA. I ordered in late Sept. and am going to take delivery in mid Dec. They sell at MSRP. I've also been told that they are near LAX so you could fly in and drive home.
