Hello I want to ask if anyone has dealt with prestige MINI in New Jersey... Like:

If you are on their wait list do you pay MSRP?
Will they make you buy delaer extras? (ie. tinting Lo Jack)
Whos the best sales representative that you dealt with?
Did they throw in something extra? Key chain etc?

Do you recommend this dealer overall?

I was on their waiting list relatively early (Feb/March 2001). I dealt with Peter Vietheer the sales manager. He was very good to deal with. They were promising MSRP with no forced add ons.

I wound up getting my MCS at Morristown since they gave me a production slot months before I would have gotten one at Prestige. I highly recommend Morristown MINI, speak to Kerry. Prestige opened very late compared to other area dealerships and because of that, I think their waiting list was much longer and shortened much slower. Prestige gave me no problem when I requested my refund and I received it quickly and even got a follow up call to confirm that I received it.

The one thing that I didn't like was that when I went back to get my refund, they had several "used" MINIs (MC and MCS with up to a couple hundred miles) for sale at 5K to 10K over MSRP. I was told that they bought these at auction and that they were available for immediate delivery. I guess that is capitalism. I don't know if they are still selling "used" MINIs.

Oh ya.. thanks guys... I did call Prestige and ya they do offer the MINI at MSRP and no forced dealer add ons but the wait list is 6 months vs. Long Beach which is 6-8 months. I decided to stick with Long beach since its local, 30 mins away from Home In LA and then I wouldnt run into the trouble of trying to figure out how to get the car back to CA...

I live a bit closer to the Princeton dealer than the Mini Morristown but tommorrow I am hauling myself up to Morristown to place my order. Now I can't say any thing about the sales people becase the 3 times I called Princeton, over a period of 3 months resulted in the same clueless woman anwering the phone. I was very put off by her rudeness and the fact that she did not even know if there were ANY Coopers on the premises for me even to look at!! Heck for all I know the salespeople are great but I can't help but wonder how many other people chose Morristown Mini over Princeton because of their disregard to the possible client. Yeah I understand you're busy but they (the dealers) need to understand a person driving real far to a car dealership to see a Mini, is a pretty sure bet that it's a sale!! I even called Morristown to ask if the were affiliated with MINI Princeton, they are not.

There are not that many Cooper dealers around but these types of posts should definately keep them in line.

I ordered from Morristown, spoke to Kerri, so far so good
