I think we need to educate dealers on how to wash cars...

Because in my book leaving several gaugues the depth of the doorway doesn't really count as a good job in my book! These aren't micro scratches, the dealer reckon it's doubful if they will polish out and is getting the bodyshop to have a look.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....!

Wheres the banghead emoticon.

Thats the second respray this car would have had since new, the first scratch was done before it was delivered and wasn't even spotted at PDI.

Faxed dealer principle and asked his comment on my car's history...

on the plus side the aero skirts have been bonded to the car now....so thats only 6 months to fix the things that were flapping around at delivery!

Yeah, they wouldn't treat your car with care whilst washing it-When I had my Astro Black MINI I actually said to them don't wash it as that colour is a pain for Swirl marks n the sun!

The solution to this is very simple: Tell them NOT to wash your car!!!

Problem solved

unfortunately this is almost definately beyond a polish...even the dealer said that he'd seen the shop get some nightmare scratches out but this could have beaten them.

i can't believe that a bmw service centre cant get the basic car wash right...

I would get a quote from a detailer (check out www.detailingworld.co.uk ) then get them to pay. If they have damaged your paintwork as bad as you say they must be liable.

Perhaps I should be thankful that my dealer has only cleaned the car once in 18 months of ownership and as many visits to sort problems with our MCC

My roof is covered in little scratches after the dealer 'washed it', put it through a gravel trap upside down it looks like! I've learned my lesson, never let your dealer wash your baby!
