I thought i would share a rather unpleasant experience i had when i bought my mini one.

I had only had my mini one for two weeks and the gearbox went at 12.30am on my way home on new years morning this year! the dealer wouldnt pick the car up and i had to get it recovered at my own cost! but this wasnt the end of it. They first tried to tell me that is was only the clutch, even after i told them i was sure it was the gearbox and that i worked in a garage so i should know! they then told me that clutches were not covered under the waranty as this was classed as wear and tear! they only agreed to replace the clutch that they thought was at fault after i threatened to take them to court and leave my car on their forecourt with a big sign in the window telling everyone why it was sitting there!

they eventually got round to fitting a new clutch after nearly two weeks! they then rang me to say that it was not the clutch but the gearbox! i politely pointed out that i told them it was the gearbox two weeks ago! they then took another three weeks to fit another gearbox, which they told me was brand new but i later found out was a recon!

I finally got my car back after five weeks with a new clutch which didnt need to be fitted, and a replacement gearbox. They then told me that i was no longer welcome on there premises! This is the same dealership my family has been buying cars from for 25 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone in buying a car in cumbria stay well away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
