Offline | Short Wait at MSRP in US? Dear Mini2 Forum, First of all, thank you all for all the terrific information! From your advice, I pursued ordering a Cooper S from East Bay Mini. However, due to the 5-6 month wait, they are unable to get the exterior color I have my heart set on. Does anyone know if there is another dealer in the US with a shorter wait time and no mark up? I'll fly pretty much anywhere to get my dream car... Thank you so much, Kelly |

Offline | well, here in southern california Brecht in San Diego does MSRP with you have a Costco membership. Long Beach does MSRP and I think Crevier too. In all above the wait is 8 to 10 weeks. That's all dealers are promising me. |

Offline | I'm still astonished to see the west coast dealers w/ the long wait. Up here in Boston, MINI of Peabody http://www.minipeabody.com/ is one of the top dealers in the country and has one of the biggest allocations. 2 years ago I ordered mine late Dec and had it by mid Feb. Not sure if MoP does it, but MINI of the Hamptons (Long Island, NY) advertises for $500 that they can manage shipping (there's a current thread over on NAM about someone in LA thinking about doing the same http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...light=hamptons) Here's one posting which gives you a sense of the timeframes: Ordered Mine Feb 17th arrived in NY March 23 was deliverd to Hayward CA on April 17 I picked it up the 18th. It was in perfect condition, just dusty. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Now to be fair, there is one negative posting, but it's not 100% clear that it was the shipper's fault or just bad luck on the way home...then again, it sounds like you may have the flexibility to fly out and drive it home. |
