Offline | Lind Norwich - interesting quote... Hi, Popped into Lind Norwich today to organise my oil service, and asked about the prospect of having privacy/darkened glass retro-fitted to my car. Are you ready for it.... Nearly £1k! I think we were looking at figures around £560+VAT for labour alone! After a friend and myself scouting about, got a quote from Ferry Secure for £160 inc for the factory-fit tints. They're actually the company who do the tinting for Sorensons Mini Also seemed like friendly, quality guys. Needless to say, I think it's going in next Monday ![]() |

Offline | They love to charge as much as possible in that place - they wanted an hours labour off me to sort out the squeeking breaks on my 3 week old mini "As I left it too long before letting them know".. and another hour for (not!) fixing the CD changer that worked perfectly in my old mini. Had to call Lind Colchester (where I bought it from) who paid up themselves for the labour.. Not considering free servicing, I'll never purchase from that garage again. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | I can understand a high price to retrofit the glass and can't see how Ferry Secure can provide three windows and fit them for £160. Sounds like they are going to fit film to the inside of the windows. The two are totally different. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | Yeah - sorry for the confusion, I meant having them tinted, as in, the film. I did state this to the guy at Lind this morning. He probably did quote for replacement glass, therefore I think we got our tracks crossed. |

Offline | Lind Colchester and Lind Norwich are all the same company. A month ago, I had the date for collecting my Mini from Lind Colchester. A few days before the date, the Sales guy rings me up and says I can't pick up on the date arranged as he was going on holiday.I said can't anyone else hand over the keys. His reply was 'No' Blood boiling, I sent his Boss an email, stating I was the customer. My car was ready and his Boss said 'sorry'. It really took the shine off picking up a new car. ![]() |
