Offline | Cooper Norwich (Formerly Lind) I just thought that I would post my experience on Lind Norwich and ask you guys if you have any experience of them? Whilst they have always been polite in the past their customer service levels sometimes lack a little. I recently went in for a brake fluid change which I was told could be done in my lunch hour whilst I waited. Well after waiting for an hour I had a look through the inspection window and found my mini sitting in the same spot with the bonnet down. So I asked the service advisor what was going on - he went to check and told me it was nearly finished 15 minutes tops. Looking through the inspection hatch I saw my car being moved! Hhhmmm I thought - 45 minutes later my car was ready. So 1hr 45mins to change the brake fluid in a booked 1hour slot, and they lied to me. At least I had time to watch 4/5 BMW owners come and go! Had I have taken my uniform I could have changed 4/5 lots of brake fluid myself in that time! If I knew of another local dealer I would give them a try as the last time I went there for the car's first MOT they forgot to tell me I had a nail in my rear tyre. Luckily I read the MOT advisory papers a few days later! Last edited by Peartreeproductions : Oct 27th, 2007 at 08:40 PM. Reason: Change of name |

Offline | Had no end of problems with Lind in Norwich Went back 3 times for the dash board to be fitted correctly, after trying to fix a rattle (still wasn't fixed) Would not replace a broken bonnet scoop, even though should be covered under warranty (said i broke my self). The level of service was rubbish.Would not recommend them to any BMW or MINI owner. As Andy P said try Sorenson's in Kings Lynn brilliant service, ain't had a problem with them, very good ![]() |

Offline | Thanks for the replies guys. Lynn is quite a long way away although if I can get a courtesy car, which are like rocking horse sh*t at Lind, it will be a possibility. Actually the more I think about it I reckon Sorensons will be worth a try. They also forgot to tell me that I had a nail in my tyre, wasn't until I read the MOT papers that I noticed by which time I had rotated the tyres. They also put a small scratch on the paintwork when they changed the air vents. Oh and they refused to change the steering wheel under warranty until I insisted on seeing the warranty man in person. Refused to change the wing mirror bolts when they were causing rust stains on the paintwork (although they generously provided me with the bolts for free). Told me to watch out for the wear indicator on the rear pads when they were low, despite the fact that early builds don't have wear indicators fitted. I could go on!!!! ![]() |

Offline | Hi, I was in Sorenson's today for some bits and they were great, also I had a BMW 120d from them as a courtesy car when I had some work done there - give them a call and I am sure they could help you Andy |

Offline | Ok, I know I am stupid for going back but Kings Lynn and Bury are just too far when you are busy. Well I took my car to the newly named Cooper of Norwich (nee Lind) for my service at 43,000 and a coolant change. After a couple of days I notice a sound like running water behind the glovebox. I popped into work on the way home from work to discuss this as i A. couldnt get through to anyone on the telephone and B. they didnt reply to my email after about 3 days. The lady on the service desk spoke to service and said that it was an airlock and if the noise had gone then just check the level - nothing to worry about. Oh well that's ok then, lets hope the head gasket doesnt go anytime soon! The week after the service it was hissing down with rain. When it finally dried up I noticed oil on the driveway. I cursed my dad for parking his heap of junk on the driveway. Looking closer it was clean oil so i opened the Mini's bonnet and there was clearly oil dripping out of the oil filter all over the subframe. Driveway was covered in the stuff. To be fair to Coopers they did sort it the same day and admitted that it was their fault but after an hour of waiting and a driveway soaked in oil i was pretty hacked off. Moral of the story the change of name is only a change of name and nothing else.... |

Offline | Coopers/Lind Hello everyone, I have had a few problems with Coopers . It seems their mechanics are almost incapable of putting my car back together. I have had problems on two occassions, the 1st being after they replaced the rear pads and discs. After collecting it on the way home I noticed a screeching of my brake, so I took it back In and they said it needed a new calliper, they fitted it and after collecting it again it was still screeching.I took it back again and they finally found the problem was a metal clip binding on the disc (they got my " faulty" calliper out of the skip and refitted it). The 2nd time was when I had it in to have the gear linkage cables replaced,I again picked it up and noticed a rattle that wasn't there before.I thought the most likely cause was the heat shield as they had to remove it and the exhaust to replace the cables.I took it back in and the next day they rang me and said it was a stone which had got thrown up on top of the heat shield which was causing the rattle, somehow I don't believe this ( I think I'd have more chance of winning the lotterry than a stone getting flicked up on top of the heatshield, especially when there wasn't any stones nearby). They just don't seem to check my car well enough before I get it back.Although I find the staff friendly enough. ![]() |

Offline | When I was looking to purchase my MINI, I found the staff at Lind (as it was then) to be extremely rude and unhelpful. Instead I went to Carrs in Bury, who were everything Lind weren't. I bought my car with them and have since been back for it's first service. I can't fault them at all. One of my work collegues has taken her Cooper S to Lind a couple of times and the level of service there has been dreadful. Sadly it seems that nothing has changed since I was looking into buying my MINI a couple of years ago. |

| MINI2 Newbie | cooper norwich yes i agree cooper in norwich are rubbish,, having got our 2005 cooper S from them.... we bought the car with a full mot. having looked when i got home all three wiper blades where split.. i went mad at the manager scott duncan of course they replaced the blades.. Also they never return fone calls i had to drive up to the show room twice and said to the salesman "do you ever return fone calls" also we had a prob with the radio and was told to drop the car off at 7-30am. So i got to the showroom at 7-30 and the whole place was in darkness! I waited til 8-00am and then members of staff floated in.... anyway we droped the car off and they gave us a bmw 320 for 2 days while our was in.. last thing we asked for a few stone chips to be touched in.. which you guessed it!!! they dint do it... they ended up giving us a touch up stick to do it our selfs. In a way i was happy with them forgeting to do the chips cos we got the stick out of them for free. But even still we wernt happy I always wondered why people from Norwich drove all the way to carrs of bury and now i know why!!!! cooper are crap ![]() |
