Hi all i wanna start a thred about what not to buy from a dealer ie: bonnet stripes cos you can get them alot cheeper at your local graphics shop. See what i mean???? ok ill go first then. AUTO lights and AUTO wipers both of these i think are a waste of money. Taking care of business

That is a bit like saying "British Racing Green, 'cause I don't like it". Things to shop around for I guess would be things like: Gap / Shortfall insurance Decals OEM accessories (sometimes cheaper aftermarket or eBay) Finance Wheel upgrades (OEM or otherwise) It could be useful if people have, for example, retrimmed their interior in full, high quality leather, how does that compare with OEM leather stuff like that.

Good example Paul. I've had plenty of cars re-upholstered in leather over the years. It is rarely, if ever, cheaper than having it done at the factory, but is always far superior quality leather.

Auto Wipers Spot on, Auto lights 50/50 really, it does me head in with the Xenons coming on and off going under trees, also shortens the life of the lamp unit. Can't beat Auto wipers-Vis pack is a great piece of kit ![]() What not to buy is that Diamond bright or Superguard or whatever it's called!

That's not really what the title and first post of this thread is about though, is it? Anyone reading your post automatically thinks it is a thread where people can post their experiences of being able to buy items for their MINIs more cheaply than at a dealer, which is, I'm sure, what you intended it to be? As the vast majority of factory-fitted options cannot be fitted after the car is built (or are prohibitively more expensive if they can be) surely including factory-fitted items that you wish you hadn't chosen in a thread about what not to buy from a MINI dealer is a bit irrelevant?
