Thumbs down Cooper Mini Cobham Let Down

Ordered a New Cooper S. - Great

Test drive booked on 23rd July for 22 / 23 rd August with Cooper MINI, Cobham.

Re-arrnaged my work schedule to accomodate my test drive "fun"

9 AM this morning the dealership ring me to tell me the car is not available ("not back in")
and my test drive is cancelled and that I needed to re-arrange it....

What a waste of time and effort and why couldn't the dealership ring me yesterday...
Disappointed is not the word...

60K MINI miles since May 05 - Lovin it

Get them to bring it TO YOU at the weekend, or when you don't have work commitments - make sure it suits you though, not them, they're doing the selling! Good Luck!!!

I don't understand why you want a test drive having already ordered a car?

If you haven't actually put money down - go to a different dealer in the area - I favour Vines of Redhill. Far better customer service.

Wales Update on the Test Drive Saga

Update on the test drive!!!

I originally wanted a test drive back in June - but the dealer didn't have a Cooper S in!!
My test drive was then pencilled in for early July - but the dealer rang me to say the car was not
registered and so we re-arranged for the 22/23 Augst - In the meantime I ordered a new Cooper S with a delivery date for the 1st week in October...
So the saga goes on and on....

Update 2 from Wednesday - No call from the dealership after I left them a message requesting the Cooper S for next Friday 31st and Sat 1 Sept....
To be honest I don't want the test drive anymore its the principle of the thing....

And once I have my new motor - Coopers of Cobham will Never Ever see me again...
I will use Specialist Cars of Stevenage who are excellent... Should have gone to them in
the first place...... I guess being a single small customer means nothing to a large dealership, so I hope this is heard by many because their customer service to me as they know they have the car ordered has been rubbish!

I got my Cooper D through a broker (Freeway), but it was Cooper Cobham who actually suppiled the car. Not impressed:
  1. The car wasn't clean - big blobs of yellow grease and the remnants of stickers on the alloys
  2. The car was driven 90 miles to me to be delivered, not on a transporter
  3. The delivery driver was a nice guy but a bit clueless about the handover process
  4. When I called Cooper Cobham twice to mention the state of the car they promised to do something but never got back to me
So, corporate customers get treated as badly as private buyers it seems! I too should have gone to Specialist Cars Stevenage who were very helpful.

i recently spoke to a guy i know who has a cooper s for him and a cooper for his wife. They went to one of the "cooper" garages,im not sure if they all belong to the same group but they said the handover was really poor and the sales girl did not even know how to start the car!!.. i have told them to go to my local dealer next time.

I have to agree (from my experience) that the Cooper group do seem a bit rubbish!!

I had no end of trouble from Cooper Reading, needles to say they got some very negative feedback from me on the aftersales form and so did head office! I wonder if its the way staff are trained in that group??!

Send a message via MSN to M111 CGC
Cooper Reading = A bunch of chavvy kids who know nothing about the product they are trying to sell. They only seem interested in taking your money and seem incapable of even returning a phone call.

We voted with our feet on our second Mini order and went to another dealer instead, even though it is further away.

I though it was just me!!!! I left about 3 messages a day on average trying to get them to phone me back - its a shame as the receptionist was actually very nice, I spoke to her more than the salesman!

Mini Cooper Wimbledon

That's a shame you guys have been disappointed with Cobham...I live in Kingston so I had the choice of Cooper Thames Ditton, Cobham and Wimbledon. I decided to go the Wimbledon one.....not one regret. Really good staff, all seem to know their stuff and always willing to help.
I bought my Mini Clubman there and managed to get it before the end of November - surely must have been one of the first around. Considering i only found out the Clubman at the begining of that month, its a pretty quick turn around!

Thankyou and sorry.

Thankyou to Fizzoid and Jamstar89 for there comments on our MINI sales team here at Cooper Wimbledon. All of those who have had a poor experience at our other Cooper dealers I am sorry to hear that.

I know for a fact that all five of us hear are friendly, polite and knowledgeable of the entire MINI range, not to blown our own trumpet but I am defending the Cooper Wimbledon name!

Yes we make mistakes and have some times have test drive issues but we will always go that extra bit further to rectify the situation.

If you consider us for your next MINI sale please get in touch with me via the forum and I'll see what I can do for you.
