| I've used Sytner in Brum adn Sutton Coldfiled nad have had mixed experiences . the guy who sold me my first Mini was good (bit tight, refused to fill it up) but alwasy returned my calls etc, I then went back there to chnage to an S and the girl who dealt with me was awesome - I then had a load of problems with that car in teh first week (clutch, steering column, track rod ends, rattle boot lid, didn't like starting when hot and the interior lights wouldn't come on when you opened the doors) and it was all sorted ASAP and well. I then had to sell the S and get a One as I chnaged jobs, loads of miles etc and went to Sytner central - sales very good, best trade in value for the S (although I still got shafted) and they gave me a good interest rate. All very good until I realised the car wasn't right.... Steering wheel out of alignment (they blamed me!) and teh 1st time it went back told me it wasn't worth doing anything about and the heater controls didn't light up (they still didn't properly after the 1st time) and when it cmae out the dash hadn't been out back together, it wasn't washed etc (unlike at Sutton where it always came back immaculate). After lots of arguements it was sorted (although badly - after chnaging the wheels last week and having the tracking checked, it turned out some of the track rod end fixings where lose - guess who's fault? yep - mine!). Their service department never ring bak and when you point this out to the receptionist she gets very stroppy. Shame really - when I go back to an S (car allowance time) I won't be going back there! |

| We bought our 05S at Sytner Nottingham this summer, very good service and a good deal too! Had to take it to the body shop the other week as I decided to try and park it in an impossible place and scraped the rear driver side plastic wheel arch. Body shop were great, it was only a minor repair and did it while I waited and I got a cup of tea too ) Still not gone in for its first service though so will see how that goes!! |

| Have to say I agree with some views here. Left my mini recently with Nottingham as it had been losing coolant and was virtually empty when I checked after driving to work (had been dropping slowly for a while. Don't usually take it there as it is not the dealer I purchased from and only left it with them as I work in Nottingham and didn't want to risk driving it back and have it overheating. Anyway left it with them and they were very nice and said they would look at it when they had time. Got the call to pick it up, collected it and it was all nicely vacuumed out and washed, and they replaced the thermostat housing under warranty. However, got it back home and the coolant had emptied completely again with steam coming out of the radiator. So had to ring mini emergency to sort it and turns out that Sytners had made a rookie error with the bleed screw. They had left it completely open so all the coolant escaped as steam through here, and with having an 80 odd mile trip to work and back that's why it had all gone. I was a bit peeved with Nottingham to say the least as this is a simple thing to check and it could have had more dire consequences. Thumbs down for Sytner from me, and it's a shame considering I have only been once |

| Sytners Nottingham Would have to look up the meaning of customer service in a dictionary!! Poor after sales service, incompetent diagnosis, zero accountability, eye watering labour rates - think they pick a number, double it and add a zero! Take no notice of the opinion of the customer regarding the fault, unwilling to accept they have made a mistake. Their incompetence caused a relatively minor situation to escalate into a major very expensive repair. We're paying for their flash showroom and plethora of staff running around. Certainly not paying for their expertise. Footnote - Mini UK were simply not interested in helping. Their view was that the car was 4 years old, had done 96000 miles (diesel car I may add so the miles mean nothing), and the car had not been serviced by main dealer (put another way - ripped off by a main dealer) once the warranty ran out. Bottom line - once they have your money - Not interested. |

| Sytner Cardiff are no better. Booked my car in for a safety check and some new plastic wheel arches..I took a day off work, they said they would pick the car up from my house at 9.00am so I waited, and waited I phoned them at 11.00pm they said they forgot to book the car in. then said they couldn't do it for a further 5 days.... Didn't apologise. There is no other Mini dealer any where close to me. |

| Yes ...Thats whats wrong with the motor trade across the board.....No aftercare...Take your money then F**k you. Dealers and Motor manufactures should be held to account...You work hard for your dosh then they rob you...... Forums like this should band together and put pressure on these companies to give better service and value for money...It's not just at this level no matter how much you pay for your car it's just the same with them all Last edited by redlinepete; Jan 12th, 2010 at 09:12 AM. |
