Offline | Thumbs up for Sytner Nottingham. ![]() Took our MCS for it's first TLC oil change service today - speedy checking in and regular progress reports whilst it was in. They even reprogrammed the car memory for us to enable convenient opening - FOC! (I had read somewhere here that most dealers charge for this). They also replaced the bonnet stripes under warranty - no quibbles, no questions - as they had somehow developed a strange brown stain on them. Big thanks to the chap on the Cotswold Run who advised me about the warranty on decals (sorry, forgot your name but you were running with the folks in the classic ). |

Offline | I bought my R53 MCS and R56 MCS from Sytner Nottingham and highly recomend them. I have since moved to Wolverhampton and had a bad experience with Benham and now travel up to Nottingham for anything that needs doing to my car. Sytner Nottingham = Brilliant |

![]() Kerb Magnet | Well, following on from recent issues with my 2002 MINI Cooper, I'm afraid to say I've lost a lot of faith in Sytner Nottingham and probably won't be using them again. I won't go into a lot of detail about it, but for those who are interested, please see the following thread: Engine stalling when cold I have to say I found the whole process rather incompetent. ![]() The poor communication from the dealership was also disappointing. I had to phone on three separate occasions to find out the status of my car including at 4:45pm yesterday evening to see if I'd actually be getting my car back! ![]() |

Offline | I know what you mean Killer. The service from Sytner is sometimes sub-standard and nothing special. When my Dooper was in for dash rattling, I had to ring up 3 or 4 times and obviously was told that the technician/services/parts guy was busy so I did the usual and left my number and details. All 3 times. Heard nothing all day so had to ring up at four to enquire if it was ready or not. Was told he was busy and could I leave a message?...told the receptionist kindly that this method did not work and that I would keep trying until I got through to him. She put me straight through the next time. They fixed my car, which is fine because all dealers have the responsibility to. Pity Sytners do not care much for after sale service. |

![]() :: 32mpg woo! :: | Having used Sytners all the time with my MINI's I have to say that I have come to the same conclusion. Infact, I cannot think of one time when after sales work has been carried out to my satisfaction ![]() The dash board has started rattling on my R56 One..... but I'm not taking it in as I know its going to be too much hassle! |

Offline | I got mine done by Phil @MiniPirate and he uses 8 year vinyl. And he'll help you with everything and anything you need! Official BMW ones (from what I read in various threads) are 3 year vinyls and Mini's warranty will only cover you for a year. I might be wrong...! But give Phil a ring, he'll satisfy your every need! ![]() |

Offline | I've had a few problems with Sytner. First of all my car wore its front tyres out in 7k , took it to them but they didnt want to know !! Then i realised that my car hadnt had its paint and fabric protection done when i bought the car even though ihad paid for it. They did do it (eventually!) after telling them it wasnt done and them telling me it was ! And i recently had dealings with Sytners bodyshop.....well it was an appalling experience . They actually didnt repair my car properly, they changed the rear bumper but didnt repair the damage behind it. I picked the car up and when i turned right the tyre rubbed on the inner arch! Good at selling you a car but not much else to be honest..i'm still waiting for my care pack for my paintwork , they said it was being posted to me (dont know where from but it must be tied to the back of a delivery tortoise!) |

| MINI2 Newbie | I'm glad it wasnt just me! After having been promised 3 times that they will come back to me about why they gave me ther wrong MOT cert - they still have not. Then I get a MOT reminder from them but also printed on reverse of my letter was a letter to another giving me the Reg no, model and address of another owner. A present for a potential thief I'm afraid I agree once they get your money the service gets worse. |

Offline | I've used Sytner in Brum adn Sutton Coldfiled nad have had mixed experiences . the guy who sold me my first Mini was good (bit tight, refused to fill it up) but alwasy returned my calls etc, I then went back there to chnage to an S and the girl who dealt with me was awesome - I then had a load of problems with that car in teh first week (clutch, steering column, track rod ends, rattle boot lid, didn't like starting when hot and the interior lights wouldn't come on when you opened the doors) and it was all sorted ASAP and well. I then had to sell the S and get a One as I chnaged jobs, loads of miles etc and went to Sytner central - sales very good, best trade in value for the S (although I still got shafted) and they gave me a good interest rate. All very good until I realised the car wasn't right.... Steering wheel out of alignment (they blamed me!) and teh 1st time it went back told me it wasn't worth doing anything about and the heater controls didn't light up (they still didn't properly after the 1st time) and when it cmae out the dash hadn't been out back together, it wasn't washed etc (unlike at Sutton where it always came back immaculate). After lots of arguements it was sorted (although badly - after chnaging the wheels last week and having the tracking checked, it turned out some of the track rod end fixings where lose - guess who's fault? yep - mine!). Their service department never ring bak and when you point this out to the receptionist she gets very stroppy. Shame really - when I go back to an S (car allowance time) I won't be going back there! |

Offline | Had my car serviced today.. I booked a whileyou wait service and my wife dropped it off and went to the shops for an hour and a half , went back and it was all done and cleaned . Very efficient this time and my wife thought they were very good (which says something as she hates garages!!). Thank goodness for a good experience from Sytner , credit where credits due !! |

Offline | We bought our 05S at Sytner Nottingham this summer, very good service and a good deal too! Had to take it to the body shop the other week as I decided to try and park it in an impossible place and scraped the rear driver side plastic wheel arch. Body shop were great, it was only a minor repair and did it while I waited and I got a cup of tea too ) Still not gone in for its first service though so will see how that goes!! |
