edit - I should also point out that as soon as my warranty and TLC ran out I took it to Robertshaws around the corner.

From personal experience I've found Elvet to be more helpful than Mill/Cooper. I haven't used Stratstone as its on the wrong side of the Tyne for me

Stratstone were pretty bad for me ,the test drive lasted about one mile most of it in third gear, Fawdindgtons were much better.

Blimey. I drove mine for 10 mile down the A19 at Mill with the salesman egging me on to go faster most of the way. Then going round the A183/19 roundabout a couple of times at about 60mph to show how well it stuck to corners

We all have our preferences I'd never buy a MINI from Stratstone ever again, I don't trust them or their service dept as far as I could throw them. As for Cooper Sunderland I've never had the pleasure of a sales pitch let alone a test drive even after inquiring on many occasions about MINI's for sale..... (from what i know that could be a good thing )

I have no hesitation in recommending Cooper Boldon to my friends and family.

The warrenty does cover the fault of the leaking thermostat housing - but doesnt cover the poor pre purchase 'mini cherished checks' - or the incorrect random bolts found under the bonnet hours after purchase - or the badly repaired (pre purchase) drivers side electric window - which has again proved to be again badly 'repaired' - or the downright embarrasing display of customer service they show to returning customers. Only when you contact MINI UK direct do Mill/Cooper seem to get off their backsides and do something about it.

And judging by the response on this thread it seems a fair few people strongly disagree with the fact its an 'isolated incident'. Its not. Mill/Cooper have a pretty poor reputation.

Seems i'll be back there again tonight - to try and sort out another reapeat problem.

I'll have two sugars in me tea when i pop in, cheers.

ive only ever been to mini boldon cos its closer for me, I must say when i go in there they do seem to pounce on you when you go in!, i sat down and worked out some prices i said i wanted a red or indi blue mini cooper or a S at a push. But due to money retraints i couldnt afford the ones they had on site at the time. The salesman said he could get me anycar i wanted, but seemed to really want to get me into a very very basic spec black mini one they had sitting in the back that they couldnt seem to shift. When i said i would go away and think about it they phoned me NON STOP for 3 weeks after sometimes 3 times a day to see if had made my mind up. It got the point where i would hang up when i seen their number flashing up on my phone cos i had told them over and over again "no i want the cars i came in for, if you cant get a one like that then forget it" (said in a nice way of course).

That was last October- I got a call last week completely out of the blue to see if i had made my mind up! I was bowled over!

Its cos of this relentless approach to get me in a car they have sitting on the forcourt that is not the one im after that ive decided to try the other MINI dealers in the northeast- and may even try the local reg vardy's in the area-

Is this common practice of MINI?

Funny how Chucky Duffer only made three posts all on this thread all about excellent customer service at COOPER SUNDERLAND. Hmmmm...

Must have been a very quiet day.
