Derek Woodmans & Motability

How long has Derek Woodmans been a Motability dealership, because I only noticed tonight?

And it helps me a bit.

Where to start.

Hmmm, one question is:

When adding options to the car (MINI Obviously ) does it get added on top of the deposit and if so does the deposit and options have to be paid off when collecting the car?

so, i think it will be calculated into the initial cost of the car, not to be paid additional on top of the advance payment

Anything else?

It says ChiliAC, which means Chili Pack and Air Conditioning, but which air con comes with the package is it Manual or Auto? Because it would be a bit stupid to pay extra for manual air con when it comes free with the Chili Pack.

i think they just class it as manual air con, however, it does seem strange that you pay more of an advance payment if you choose one with AC when the Chili pack comes with it anyway

I'll have to find out!

That would be helpful, because I have rung Motability up before and the bloke didn't have clue what I was on about and though I was talking about the transmission.

Question about you guys now (dealership)

The MINI I have will more than likely have to be adapted in some way so that I can drive it, so what would happen if I need a courtesy car?

we would have to inform motability that your car is coming in & they would supply one suitable for your/your familys needs.

Normally able to be done within 24 hours, but it's all done through Motability & not the dealer when it comes to loan cars when in for service/repairs

I see....... I never knew that.

Would it be the same procedure if I booked the car in for say dealer fitted accessories like JCW bits?

i'm pretty certain it would be..

you'll have to excuse us, but we don't really do that many Motability deals so we are all pretty new to it! But, as ever, we all like fresh challenges!

Sorry for my vague responses

If you are in the market for a car, then I can certainly try & firm up some figures for you according to a spec of yours. PM me if you like... no pressure or hassle

No problem Dave, it wasn't long ago when MINI's weren't even available on Motability.

And I'll probably PM you tommorow with a spec.

And good picture of you in the back of the Clubman on the Woodmans Website hehe.

It's because the residual value of a CHILI Pack car is higher than that of one only fitted with AC.

Motability get more back at the end of the agreement, so the customer pays less up front.

Mr Fiat Sales Manager comes to the rescue

guess that answers the questions Tom!!

the only thing that i still query is the fact that a CHILI Pack car is less on advance payment than a CHILI Pack car with AC..... when we all know the AC comes in the CHILI pack anyway?!?!
