I had my initial two tests drives with Scothall, Southampton and wanted to buy from them. However their allocation was sold out, and so I tried Barons of Farnborough. Luckily they had some allocation. However I nearly didnt bother buying from them due to the negative comments elsewhere on this site. In the end, I did and it was top service from start to finish. I dealt with Lee, who I'd recommend absolutely. All queries mail, phone and email were handled promptly and without any ********. There is also a youngish salesman there who seems ok. I found, who I reckon is the sales-manager, a bit smug.

I think it only fair to write these comments to balance things out. Incidentally I rang several dealerships but the phone just kept ringing, and I didnt try a 3rd time.

Hi,

I purchased my car from Barons last September.No trouble from the sales front, trouble was the service department.They could never get things fixed properly or promptly, and then it would have to go back for things that were ok before it went in.I took 8 months for them to fix one thing and then after complaining to MINI UK, when it was suddenly done in 3 days.I have now taken my custom elsewhere.

I would like to buy my 'S' from Lee because he was good but not with that service backup.!

I have my order placed with Barons of Farnborough and they seem ok....they are giving me a Cooper S for the day to try it out before my car arrives. I basically went with them as they are my local dealer plus they had the shortest delivery time in the whole area.

I also tried Jack Williams at Sunningdale and they seem pretty good.

I don't know if any garage is that great these days...I think it's a case of ensuring they know who's paying and that you are preparred to drop the order if you get a better offer from another garage.

I bought both MINIs from Barons at Farnborough - Lee was my salesman, he's good.

Thery're not the nearest dealer to me; I went out of my way to buy from them, and I'd use them again.

I've never had experience of their service, though. I always used a nearer dealer for that (wished I hadn't and have vowed never to use them again now).

I'm booked in soon to have some accessories fitted, get some rattles fixed too. Barons' servicing had better be up to scratch - I have only seen negative comments posted here - hope Ihave good reason to praise them again once I have my MINI back?
