| MINI2 Regular | Williams Manchester I am currently tring to sell my mini one and I am looking at buying a Cooper S. I went to Williams Manchester the other week to discuss buying a new car and left telling them I would come back when I have sold my car. Having read some negative comments about Williams Manchester and actually experienced the cretins who work in the service centre office who know nothing about cars. Does any one have anything positive to say about Williams Manchester after reading some comments tonight on some threads I am considering going to Richard Holmes in Stockport to buy a Cooper S when I have sold my car. |

Offline | i would give williams at rochdale a look as well,we bought a new mini clubman from there in january and they have been brilliant, ask for jenny fernandez. we bought our first mini from williams at manchester and you could not have put it better, CRETINS just about sums them up especially in the sevice dept and the bodyshop there is no better. every time we took the car back with a problem and there where many it came back with something else wrong and the people behind the service desk where downright rude when i tried to tell them what i thought was wrong. derek woodmans are ok but there part ex prices are on the low side especially if you start shopping around. hope you get sorted out with a car. ![]() |

Offline | Another MINI owning friend of mine has had a lot of warranty work done at Williams (Manchester). He ended up complaining to MINI/BMW HQ, and they appeared to admit they know Williams are poor ![]() |

Offline | i guess it must depend on how old your car is as i was talking of my buying experience at woodmans. because our mini was over 3 years old they would not retail it, all they were doing was "selling it on" so we got what they got for it, i had been looking around for ages for the particular car they were selling so it was a case of biting the bullet and accepting the deal. my brother went in recently to woodmans as it is local to where he works and they were exactly the same with him,he had a 53 plate high spec cooper s which he wanted to trade on a new clubman, because it was over 3 years old they would not retail it,only sell it on,as you can guess he walked away laughing his head off when they told him what they could offer him for it. if you are trading a car less than 3 years old woodmans will retail it and you will get a far better price for it because they can make more money out of it,i do not understand why they operate this way because Williams Rochdale, Bowker Blackburn and David Holmes Stockport retail all ages of mini as long as it passes all the mini cherished checks so they can offer better part exchange prices. ![]() |

Offline | hear, hear, at first i kept getting fobbed off by the sales staff at Williams Manchester over the problems with our car which at the time was just over 12 months old saying "it isn't a new car you know ". after 3 weeks i had had enough and hand delivered a letter stating i was returning the car under the 28 day return policy within the mini cherished programme,it was only then that problems with the car started to get sorted as they got the car straight in and a loan car given to us and the promise that the car would not come back to us until sorted, when we got the car back there were cigarette burns in the cars headlining-i am not joking. my wife was in tears and we took the car back and after a lot of shouting at the sales manager he agreed to fit a new headlining which was done by their muppets in the body shop. after that we have never been near the place and i always steer anybody away from manchester if anybody at work or a friend says they are looking for a mini. i also complained to BMW/MINI customer services who were very sympathetic and admitted Williams Manchester were poor but they sell a heck of a lot of cars so the number of negative complaints they get won't be enough for anybody to investigate the complaints. i will never spend another penny there and they always get the 2 finger salute when i drive past! just because of the bad experience there it has not stopped me spending money with Williams Rochdale who i think are superb,i have bought 2 nearly new BMWs and the new clubman in the last 18 months from them and have been very happy with each deal having shopped around each time they were by miles the cheapest. ![]() |
