Offline | Hi I had my Inspection II done today at Tring and they were fantastic! Very polite, gave me a loan car for the day (a new Cooper!). And the best bit was they didn't find any repairs needed for the car which is amazing because I thought all dealers found something!! So if you're looking for a dealer in the Herts/North London area then don't even think about going to Scotthall Borehamwood or Watford as they are both rubbish and have poor customer skills but instead go to Stratstone Tring!! ![]() Inga ![]() |

Offline | Could not agree more Inga, Stratstone, Tring have always been fantastic and exceptionally helpful on both sales and service side of things. Had my MCS serviced there after being totally ripped off by S**tner in High Wycombe. Stratstone sold me my GP(cheers Martin!) and have been great ever since, any works that have been required a top dealer! ![]() |

Offline | I knew that they had been taken over by Specialist a few weeks ago, but it was all kept quiet, as to whether or not its a good thing.....who knows! If they are keeping the same staff, which im sure they will do, then I cant see its going to be much different, though im sure they may well have a slightly different way of working compared to Stratstone! Anything has got to be better than the 'Stratstone' name (though all places have their reputations in the motor trade!) |

Offline | My buying experience of Stratstone Chesterfield, who are my nearest dealer, is coloured by their lack of interest in bidding to supply my Clubman D, against Sytner Nottingham and Soper Lincoln. Basically, they failed to have a demo car available for me to borrow for the day when I arrived to keep an appointment I made a week earlier and then failed to keep a promise to deliver it to me at home the next day. I was fairly sure of the spec I wanted but at that time, last October, I had never driven any modern MINI and wanted to compare equivalent Cooper and Cooper Ds before placing my order provisionally, for confirmation when I had actually seen and played with a launch Clubman. Sytner's and Soper's both had cars available at a moment's notice and both couldn't have been more helpful - or more different to Stratstone's - who never even sought another chance to sell to me or had the courtesy to apologize. (Soper's won my order only on the strength of their slightly better trade-in offer.) But I do hope you have a better experience! David Last edited by dlpruk : Jul 28th, 2008 at 02:16 PM. |

| MINI2 Newbie | I dont think ill be using Stratsone Tring ever again. When my car went into service, they asked me of any problems they want me to look at. I told them about the cigerette lighter needed looking at as i thought it was broken. They wanted to know what i use it for. so i told them it was for mobile phone charger and for my tyre pump, so they said "oh its not ment for that type of use!!" What?? They told me just to inspect it would cost 60 pounds!!! During the day i had a call. They told me "Sir your wiper blades need replacing is it ok if we change them?" i said "yes". then i said how much? "That will be 47 pounds for the front ones" Then i said forget it! Also when i got my car back they told me unknown to me that front fog light has come out of the plastic moulding thats behind the bumper. God only knows how this has happened, ive never hit anything and theres no damage to suggest anyones backed into it. So in order to get to it they will have to remove the whole bumper, they told me it would cost hundreds of pounds of labour costs just to remove the bumper so god knows what the total repair cost would be. So ive come to the conclusion that either the mini is just too expensive for me or stratstone or whatever they are called now are just are just a rip off garage. My sister diddnt have a great experiance with the sales side. I diddnt realise they started selling cherished MINI ashtrays for £11600. The car stank of fags and burns and had a few other problems they tryed to fob us off with. They posted some rubbish through my door telling me they have all been taken over by some company and a leaflet of all new bm', went straight in the bin |

Offline | Hi, I tried to buy a cherished Mini from stratstone Tring In April 2008. The Salesman did stay late after the time he was meant to finish looking at what options he had available and they were happy to take me out on test drive the next day. But the test drive was a quick 5 minute down the road and phoneing me back seemed to be quite a problem. Was unwilling to match other dealers prices and was fobbed off that they could quite easially sell to someone else at their expensive prices. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a car to not be impressed by a dealership. So i brought elsewhere. However, I was impressed when I ordered my mats through the BMW parts side at Tring. The parts man was happy to answer all my questions and spent ages talking on the phone about all the options available and phoned to let me know when they were in and greeted me very pleasantly. I may think about using Tring again after hearing change of hands, but may consider Luton as I hear they have a good repour with customers. |

Offline | I'll have to give Luton go when my oil service is due, though I do need new brake pads first. Haven't really made up my mind what I'm going to do about them. I might get an aftermarket brake and get it fitted. Not sure where yet. |
