| MINI2 Senior | Wow-- that's messed up! Clearly, they've not worked out all their policies yet. I hope everyone will make it clear that we're not buying from them if they require options we don't want. We don't have to drive very far to Dallas or Louisianna to buy a MINI today, and more dealerships are due open here soon. I told Momentum outright that I'm first on the list to buy at MSRP from MINI Center in San Antonio when they open their doors, and I'm not in a hurry. If they will make me the same deal in Houston, and I can get the car sooner from them, then that makes sense, of course, as I live here. But if not, then to heck with Momementum-- it's a quick drive to San Antonio, at least by Texas standards. My brother lives there, and I go all the time. So, I don't care a whole lot whether Momentum marks things up-- but, I do care about whether or not people LET them do that. Don't let them. Just buy somewhere else. We're quickly getting to the day when dealerships will not be able to get away with that stuff. The huge crush of must-have buyers is fading, and cars are becomming available off the lot for walk-in customers in many places. It only requires a little bit of self control for us to find the patience to buy from polite dealerships and not pay markups, and I hope that places like Momentum understand that, and quickly adopt policies that recognize that there's more value in customer satisfaction than in ludicrous markups. Peace, wynn Texan. Goofy. Sometimes witty. Pacifist. Imperfect, nice guy. Trying. |

Offline | Hey guys, I just went to John Roberts last Saturday, I didn't even know they were open till my dad told me. We went and test drove a Cooper CVT, nice altho kinda slow for my liking, so I talked to my dad bout getting a MCS. Well they got back to him today and told him that the yellow MCS we had seen on Sat. had already been sold for a week and that they had it b/c the owner was nice enough to allow them to test drive it with other potential customers. They have a waiting list untill January for another Cooper S, but since I really need the car in the next couple of weeks I might get the CVT instead (hey i can always go steptronic shift if i need real speed). |
