how can the dealership charge £420 for delivery when only 2 years ago it was £280 thats a £140 increase we all love having a mini but its getting beyond a joke now and were forced to pay it if we want to own this kind of car!!! what do you think? cheers mr p
Do you mean the 'Delivery charge' on the invoice?
It's NOT the dealership charging that, it's the manufacturer! When a dealership (ANY main dealer) gets a new car delivered, there is always a 'Delivery charge' included on the consignment note. It's NOT the garage that gets the money! The money goes towards covering the cost of delivery of all the cars to all the dealers.
Don't forget the dealership also pays £55 FRF (first registration fee) together with the RFL (road fund license).
r50uk i hear what you are saying but you are giving them vultures far too much credit, they will make that £55 back a hundred fold on the sale of a car plus probable add that on top of the price too and i find it hard, almost impossible to believe that the dealership gets charged over £300 per car when they will be getting a lot of cars every week, i am sure they have to pay something but i would not think it was anywhere near £300!
